Assenmacher Specialty Tools Toy 300 Oil Filter Wrench Set for Toyota/Lexus

I was debating the assenmacher or a different brand oil filter wrench set. i'm glad i went with this one. Quality is perfect, it is the right sizes for most of the plastic cartridge style oil filter housing caps. I recommend anyone who has had to fight one off without the proper tools to buy this, and the Assenmacher V410 (BMW/Volvo) tool. Those 4 caps will cover 90% of the ones you will come across.

Fit the job like it is suppose to, works great.

So far this tools set has been really good. It is the only one that does not slip during use on Toyota filter caps unlike the regular thin steel ones made in those oil filter sets. The steel ones flex out and will slip around the filter cap.I have found a small flaw in this particular tool though. When I work on the earlier models of Prius or corolla, they have plastic filter caps not aluminun like the newers ones. And this tool set some times does slip if not carefull with it. The reason is because the plastic caps actually have these contact points as they are called or ribs if you will. There is another brand out there that makes a tool just like Assenmacher but with the grooves that will slip into the contact points thereby not allowing the tool to not slip at all no matter what. That brand is Called "Private Brand Tools (PBT71115) 3 PIece Toyota/Lexus Oil Filter Wrench Kit" Take a look and you will see what I mean.This will be my next purchase.But for now this tool has been really good.

This set is quite affordable and includes the Toyota 4-cyl 64mm, Toyota 6 & 8 cyl 73mm, and the Ford/Mazda 2.3L 74mm. I am a technician and I personally verified that all three fit what they are supposed to. Don't listen to anyone telling you that you need a 75.5mm or something for the Ford filter cap.

This is my second set. I bought for travel service calls after using them at work for 6 years. You will not be disappointed.

I am a mechanic. I change oil a LOT. Toyota cartridge style oil filters can be really hard to loosen.With these adapters, there is no problem getting them off.I highly recommend these if you plan on changing oil on Toyotas on a regular basis.

i bought this kit for the 64mm cap to remove toyota v6 oil filter housings. Figured I'd get the kit since it was only a little more. The tool works but doesnt fit great so it gets wedged on the filter housing. when I take the cap off it gets stuck on the tool. I clean everything up and reinstall the cap and then i have to back it off a bit to loosen up the tool from the cap. I will be on the lookout for a better tool. I see there are some now that engage the tabs on the filter cap instead of the sides. I think that might work better?

Originally I bought a single Assenmacher oil wrench for my 2005 Toyota Tacoma (the truck requires a specific size), while these wrenches are not cheap, try laying on your back and having a conventional size wrench slip and slide off the oil filter for awhile, to the point your ready to break something. After paying for the single wrench I found the set which will cover almost all Toyota's made (I have a Camry and Corolla also) and it was more economical buying the set (that comes in a nice case) than singly. All in all these are great tools made specifically for the intended automobiles and worth the price.
