Easy install and setup
I followed every instruction to the T and I had a really good experience. Installation was easy and with MacOS already pre installed setup was a breeze. Immediately after setup I upgraded to Ventura and I couldn’t be happier.

Installed and working great
I installed on a 13 inch MacBook Pro 2017 Model A1708. I won't say it's easy If this is your first time opening your Mac to install a hard drive. It can be nerve racking wonder if you're going to do it right. I would watch a few YouTube video first to get comfortable with the process. There are only a here are major steps. 1. back up your Mac,. 2. Shut down. 3 Remove all screws from the back (the needed screw drivers come with the drive. 4. Pull the black tape from your battery connection.5 Disconnect the batter. 6. Release the battery cable and pull it free, then take out screw on battery terminal. 7. Remove black tape on SSD. 8. Remove the two screws holding the SSD in place. 9. Lift up and pull out the SSD. 10. Plug in the new SSD and put it all back together. When you restart hold down Command Option R. You will see a globe it you did it right. When it restarted choose your wireless network from the pull down menu. It will download a screen with Disk Utilities and reinstall choices. Choose disk utilities and reformat with APFS and GUID Partition Map. After it reformats, close the window and you will see a screen with the choices of how to reinstall the operating system. I tired from Time Machine back up, but it didn't work, then I tried Ventura download and install and it work. OS successfully installed and everything is working great.

Failed after 5 months
Worked fine for 5 months, then suddenly not recognized. Brought it to Apple genius bar: they tried reinstalling it twice with no success. I put in the original SSD, which worked, then tried reinstalling the Dogfish -- again it was not recognized.Contacted Dogfish support via their webform -- got no response.

Great for steamdeck
No issues yet, been running for about a month. Steamdeck is only pcie 3.0 so no point in buying a higher priced pcie 4.0, it will just get throttled. One issue with this drive, which may be an issue with all tb+ size, is the thickness, the foil shield from the deck for the drive is very difficult to put on, but will still fit.

Great SSD for certain applications...
Works well, I am using it in an old Dell Latitude that had a micro hard drive. Paired this SSD with a micro adapter also found on Amazon and they work perfectly. I'm more than happy with the performance. Not the fastest SSD out there but at this price and for what I needed it for it more than passes.

Bought for Steam Deck and it didn't recognize the drive (but you can get it to work)
I put it in my Steam Deck and it wouldn't recognize the SSD, but no worries. If you boot into Steam OS from an external USB drive (which you'd have to prepare anyways to re-image the SSD, it'll see the drive so you can image it. Google is your friend. I was almost at the point of returning it until I found this fix. So if you think the SSD is bad, it's not. You just have to boot into Steam OS from your USB drive then reimage the SSD like I said above. Very happy with the purchase now.

Works as advertised. Installation instruction video left out a step.
+ Quadrupled storage capacity to 1 TB. Extends life of a reliable if unremarkable early 2015 Macbook Air. Can't see ever needing more than this.+ Second time I have have changed SSD on this Macbook and the physical exchange/installation was done in less than 5 mins.+ A lot of instruction videos on youtube say you need to create a start/boot-up USB. I made one but didn't use it here - it wasn't necessary since I was able to download the OS with a wifi connection to Internet Recovery (see comments below). Nice to have this USB boot drive but quite a bother to make it.+ a 5 year warranty (although will the company be there in 5 years and will I be able to find them to get a replacement???) I will be using time machine regularly.+/- Runs a bit faster according to Black Magic software than the previous "Fledging" brand 256GB disk I installed about 3 years ago when the 128GB stock disk was too close to full. But I am disappointed that it does not run nearly as fast as advertised. Read +/-1450 MB/s. Write +/-1250 MB/s. It may be that that's the fastest my machine can go(?) NB: I got these speeds ONLY AFTER I had restarted the Macbook after installing the new drive. The write speeds, in particular, before restart were REALLY erratic/bad (dropped below 200MB/s during the initial test.) I thought I had a dud. After the restart, everything seemed fine ie speeds pretty consistent as noted above.- The seller's video on installation skips a step which I was forced to do which added more than an hour to installation time. After physical installation, I erased and formatted the newly installed disk as presented in the video with the Utility app. When I tried to use my time machine backup to restore the system, the system said I had to install Mac OS to the disk from the internet BEFORE I could use time machine for the back up. Not a great problem but 1) this was a deviation from the video and 2) this step added extra time to installation. I think this video assumes OS is pre-installed on the drive at the factory which is the case with some of these Mac replacement drives sold on Amazon, and which typically cost more as a result.
