Not at all like the omija berries from Korea. These were old, slightly sticky and did not smell right.

For my first time trying this tea, it turned out delicious. When I boiled it over the stove and strained it for maximum flavor, it ended up tasting very tart and slightly sweet with a bit of a woodsy aftertaste (and even sometimes a very salty almost umami-like aftertaste!). It's pleasantly full bodied with an interesting range of flavors, its no wonder they sometimes call this the five flavor tea! Though, it's mostly very tart in the beginning so adding a little sugar or honey did wonders. Making tea with these in my little diffusers didn't give me nowhere near of a strong enough cup for some reason, so I'd just highly recommend boiling it in a pot. But definitely recommended, if you enjoy tart-tasting tea you will really enjoy this.
