12 Years of CORSAIR Reliability — Still My Go‑To PSU Brand
The CORSAIR HX1000i ATX has been in my PC for a month now, replacing my CORSAIR AX1200i, which lasted an incredible 12 years. The HX1000i definitely had big shoes to fill, and so far it’s living up to the legacy. It also came in about $140 cheaper than what I paid for the AX1200i back then, which is a nice bonus. One thing that saved me a ton of time during the swap was that I didn’t need to change out my custom braided cables from the AX1200i — they worked perfectly with the HX1000i. During installation I did have a scare where my GPU kept dropping out, and I was close to sending the PSU back. Thankfully, it turned out to be just a cable connection issue, not the power supply itself. Since fixing that, my gaming PC has been completely stable with zero power issues for an entire month. So far, the HX1000i is proving to be a solid, reliable replacement.

High performance, highly efficient and very quiet.
I upgraded from a Thermaltake 600W PSU, which was struggling to cope with my hardware needs due to a mixture of mechanical, SSD and M.2 NVME drives coupled with a 6700XT and a Ryzen 5900x processor. Despite my new RTX 4070 graphics card consuming less power than the previous 6750XT an upgrade was due. I initially intended to opt for the 850 RMx series. However, I'm extremely satisfied with my choice of the 1000HXi, which provides extra capacity. The power supply installed in my Thermaltake Core V21 case very easily without any reconfiguring. My PC, equipped with a Ryzen 5900x, is an occasional gamer but primarily used for running VMs and containers, meaning it's on for a significant part of the day. Although this PSU may have a higher upfront cost, its superior efficiency rating will eventually lead to savings compared to less efficient 850 RMx PSU I was initially considering. Both have a lengthy warranty period worth considering in your decision-making process. However, the extra headroom and efficiency were deciding factors for me. Advantages of this PSU include: Plenty of power The Zero DB fan, which is my top feature. Its internal components are of excellent quality Full modularity is a major plus. Many reviews rank it as an A-tier power supply. While I didn't require the iCUE software, it's a nice bonus. It's also somewhat future-proofed with ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 ratings. On the downside: No instructions were provided, and the QR code on the box for the manual didn't work. Also, the cables are somewhat rigid, but they still seem to be of high quality. In conclusion, I would wholeheartedly endorse this PSU and wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again.

Probably the best power supply maker out there. They do go above and beyond.
For the record, I am reviewing the: Corsair HX1000i Fully Modular Ultra-Low Noise ATX Power Supply - ATX 3.1 & PCIe 5.1 Compliant - Fluid Dynamic Bearing Fan - CORSAIR iCUE Software Compatible - 80 Plus Platinum Efficiency - Black This is my third Corsair power supply. The first died in my other system after about 3 years. I then purchased one that was slightly more powerful and it has lasted more than 10 years and still running. I think that Corsair goes above and beyond when they put their packages together, you get all the cables you could ever need, and then some. The I have two bags full of extra cables that I am holding on to just in case I ever change things. I have to check from time to time to make sure the fan is working on the PW Supply, as it only comes on once in a while. I guess I have over killed my system with power but since I am running a really nice video card and a whole bunch of fans, I added everything up and then added an extra 100 watts just for safety. I don't want to over tax my system and then burn it out. This this saves me power by not using it unless it is needed. I love the per-wraped cables, and cable management is not bad with these as they do bend easily. The quality of all the connectors is top notch and I have not had a single cable go bad or have any problems. Installation was simple, and I love it. I don't think you can go wrong with a Corsair PS. Just do the math and make sure you get the correct one.

Works great on my homelab server
Purchased this because I thought it would be the next best thing to an actual server PSU, given that it has monitoring (And there is a Linux driver for that, the corsair-psu module is built right into the kernel and will grab its metrics just fine and expose them via sensors or sysfs), and I'm very satisfied with it. It really is efficient and quiet, I haven't seen the fan come on even once since my server only draws 400W (so far), and I also haven't seen it struggling with temperatures which I wouldn't know if it weren't for the monitoring. My cooling setup is less than ideal because my CPU cooler is pointing up into the PSU's intake, and even with 240W of heat from my EPYC blowing into it, it doesn't care at all, it's not going above 45C, and doesn't need its fan on. It's very nice to actually know that the unit is working fine given the circumstances, and it's very rare that a power supply actually stands out as good like this one does.

Great power supply
Power supply delivers reliable, high-efficiency performance. It is very quiet and hasn't had any issues with power spikes or heavy loads. Fast and easy installation with fully modular cables. You can connect it to the iCUE software for monitoring or adjusting fans, which is a nice feature. Newer GPUS, double-check you don't need an adapter or something. Have not seen long-term reliability, but I don't see anything going out any time soon.

Low rating due to item craftmanship (Read Review)
I returned this power supply upon opening it. When I took it out of the box, I hear something rattling around inside the P.S. When I turned it over, a ball of solder fell out. Inspecting the solder, it was smooth and shiny except for the flat bottom where it had been soldered, which was coarse and rough... obviously a cold solder joint. I decided to box it back up and return to Amazon and get another one. I did order the same Brand and model, as I really like Corsair products. Other than that issue, this appears to be a quality made product. I will right a review when I receive my new unit.

More than satisfied
Can't say enough good things. Runs at 91% efficiency. Fan rarely comes on so very quiet. Easy integration to iCUE software to measure performance and, wow, does Corsair iCUE software give a lot of info on this PS. Had Corsair 850, also a power house, but iCUE not supported. This PS is not large and should fit into most desktop systems but check your measurements first before buying. Plenty connection options. Currently running Ryzen 9, 2x 14TB drive, 1x 10TB drive, 2x 2TB SSD, Radeon card, 64GB ram, capture PCIe card, plus a whole lot more and its just a blip for this PS at only 49C.

Easy installation and comes with all the power cables you could ever ask for! My favourite part about this PSU is easily the ability to plug it into a USB header on your motherboard through the USB-C port on it (cable for that is included of course). The ability to monitor every single power output on the PSU is amazing for anyone like me who loves to check over how all of their parts are performing, the monitoring panel in Corsairs ICue software shows everything for the PSU in it! It's worth the money to me!
