Cosori Rice Cooker 5L, 10 Cups, Ceramic Coated Inner Pot, Slow & Steamer, Black

I've held off reviewing for a few weeks to get some experience with this rice cooker. I've only cooked batches of 1 or 2 cups of rice and only used Tilda white or brown basmati. I've had no problems at all. Every batch has cooked perfectly well and the stay warm also works great with no rice sticking to the base. I always rinse the white rice very well before cooking but don't bother with the brown. I've just used the standard measurements of water per cup of rice without any modification. We have had to modify how we cook but this actually makes things easier and less stressful in the kitchen. We just start the rice an hour or 2 before we need it and then serve it hot once the main food is ready. If it takes an hour for the brown or 40 mins for the white, then this no longer matters. When finished there is no issue with water dripping on the counter from the condensation catcher. Very little water is caught in this. The lid breaks down very easily and just needs a wipe and rinse off. The ceramic-coated cooking bowl also seems to be very well made. This just needs a wipe with some soapy water and cleans off very easily. The other utensils are well-made and designed, and are actually really useful for fluffing and serving the rice with no risk of damaging the bowl. We only use two cups of rice for 4 people so this cooker will cook a huge amount of rice for us. I've seen the problem reviews others have posted and can only say this hasn't been my experience. Maybe some of those were faulty or the design has since been changed? I just wish I hadn't been put off for so long by those reviews now. One of the best things I have bought for the kitchen.

Really pleased with this rice cooker. We already own a smaller rice cooker from a popular brand, amongst various slow and electric pressure cooking devices. I did wonder if I had bought something which I would rarely use but in the short time of having it I'm finding it certainly best for my rice cooking duties. There's only two of us and this is a "big" rice cooker in contrast to our other, however, it is much easier to clean as it doesn't generate any starch on the lid for our one cup of rice. I've marked a plastic cup with the required amount of water for one cup of rice. There's a recess in the casing to collect the condensation drips from the inner lid (which I get prepared for with a rolled up piece of kitchen roll). As per all previous rice cookers I've owned, steam is released from the lid vent when cooking, it's best to sit it as safely close to the extractor hob area (but make sure it's safe to sit it there without the hob on or hot) and vent it out of the room. As mentioned, it's easy to clean but takes a while to dry due the large silicon seal hanging on to some of the water. I tried it as a slow cooker but I couldn't find a way to adjust the temperature so tend to use my Tefal Sphericook for that. Only issue is the price variation, I'd hang on until you can buy it for around £85 as it was a lot more expensive by the time I wrote this review.

Really impressed with this, lots of functions and easy to use, makes perfect rice. Non-stick inner bowl is good quality. Only issue I have, as I do with all the Cosori appliances I've had, is that you just can't get spares. I would like to have a second inner pot and especially a second inner lid because the silicone seal will inevitably take on smells and I don't really fancy my morning porridge with a discernible whiff of curry (rather nice recipe for curried chickpeas in the accompanying recipe book). Check the dimensions, too, it's a fairly sizeable unit. Having said that, I think this is a good buy, especially if it's on offer.

I have been using this rice cooker for awhile now. Overall, I am satisfied with it. Please be advised, the markings on the inner pot and the recipe booklet do not fully match. Also, I have noticed that the rice cooker seems to "struggle" when you cook large quantity i.e., 8 cups, whereby the bottom parts seems to be overcooked/soggier and the top part of rice slightly underdone. I have tried reducing the amount of liquid several times, still couldn't get it quite right. It might be a recipe issue rather than the rice cooker, but I thought it's worth sharing. 6 cup works fine.

Safe, easy clean, worth every penny — 10/10.

Makes the best rice ever but you need to adjust cooking time and amount of water added from recipe manual to suit your own personnel taste

I trust the Cosori brand and needed a rice cooker to replace our existing, one-button standalone cooker which aside from spilling over with starchy fluid, (even after thoroughly washing the rice), mostly kept a layer of crust on the bottom of the inner pan. The touch-sensitive control panel on the Cosori appears daunting at first but is simple to use. Two taps and my white, long-grain rice started to cook. The device took 43 minutes to cook the rice (2 cups) and I left it for a further 1 hour on auto-warm. This is a much longer period than my previous rice cooker, which took 10 minutes plus 10 minutes to steam dry. However, the results were nothing short of incredible. The Cosori produced completely separated, starch-free and non-clumping rice, cooked to restaurant quality perfection. Spooning out the rice left no residue in the pot and the cleaning took minutes. We haven’t tried any of the other functionalities, (steaming, sautéing, baking and others), but I am confident that the Cosori will perfectly cook anything you can chuck in it. Dare I say our best kitchen gadget yet.
