Q: How durable is the glass with this? Some glass teapots are very delicate, and I'm looking for one that's robust. Thanks.

This has been ok. I had a similar one but with a more delicate (and better looking) spout which the cleaning lady broke in 3 days whereas this has survived her for 8 months so far. My assessment it will withstand as tough handling as a ceramic pot would.

Q: Can I boil water on the electric hob in the teapot?

Absolutely, it’s heatproof glass.

Q: What's the diameter of the base? Wondering what size heat diffuser I will need. Thanks

The dimensions are: Height is 17.2 cm, Lenght is 20.8 cm, Width is 15.5 cm. The glass of the teapot is of course, heat resistant. It is best to use a slow rising heat as exteme heat changes are not good for the Trendglass Jena. Finally, keep the lid on at all times.
