I bought three competing posture correction straps for my family as all of us have fallen short of great posture with now years of computer and phoning activities that lend to a comfortable slouch if one is not aware. This was the least expensive and the one I chose to wear. I found that it is just as good as the higher priced models with the only difference being its visibility in comparison to how tight a shirt you may be wearing. the variance is small enough to be insignificant to me personally, my wife prefers the fight-tech model for lighter clothing. I feel the velcro on this one to be superior, but no issues either way. Here is the caveat emptor: A mistake is easily made that will prove this device just as capable of destroying your posture as it is in helping it. And a fine line it is.We felt wonderful and immediate results wearing this device. It truly adds a sense of confidence, as confidence perceived is confidence achieved. People will actually treat you as someone more confident, thus changing your reality and incrementally your own perception of self. That's great HOWEVER I noticed after day four that when I was not in the device my posture was WORSE than when Before its use. It happened very quickly and I opened an idea to my family and we were all in accordance. If you use the straps to correct your posture (i.e. cheating the sacrifice it takes to enjoy the habit built by assuming a good posture) it works wonders until you take it off. Have a business meeting, date, confrontation? WEAR IT! However to get the proper "help" that you seek in fixing your posture for the long term by creating a better awareness of your posture and auto-correcting effortlessly because you formed a new habit, take heed. DO NOT adjust the straps to hold you in the place you would like to be for any serious amount of time. This will give you the illusion of the outcome you want while weakening the chances of getting it. With the straps holding your shoulders back you dont have to exercise the muscles that give you the posture you already have! They will atrophy from lack of use and standing straight will become even more difficult. HOWEVER, if you put your arms up in a "winning" "V" position, level your chin, and slowly lower your arms with your back straight, you should find the posture your looking for. From this position the strap should not be felt holding you in place. (Sorry this is so long and detailed,but its important I get the entire idea translated because you are worth it.) Only tighten them enough that you can feel the straps beginning to work if you are slouched in a bad posture position. If you CANT slouch with this on, your doing it wrong. It should make slouching slightly uncomfortable, bringing forward your awareness, and YOU correct your position using YOUR contracting muscles to do the work. It is in this way you will achieve the desired results and habit of good posture and it, in my opinion, will work if you stay committed. My commitment is 3 hours a day for 120 days. I'm about two weeks in and I already notice a slight improvement in my awareness when I am not in the device and am repositioning. It is my experience that most change in habit is incremental and I believe this will be along those lines. A better (or any) explanation of the "how and why" would be greatly appreciated by those who don't want to hunt for the integrity of the device, so 4 stars.
