Nice Uke
Great looking and sounding Ukulele. The tenor uke is much easier to play and has a deeper sound. My only issue is tuning - quickly gets out of tune. Might have something to do with recent temp fluctuations - but have had to re-tune during same day. Overall great value. This is my second Kala uke.

Inexspensive
It is not a top of the line ukulele but for the money it is very good. It arrived 3 days ahead of predicted time and well packaged. I will change the shoulder strap and the case. They were both less than what I would use. The ukulele itself is very nice looking and of descent craftmanship. After tuning it up I checked the tuning at fret 12 and find it still in tune up the neck. That says a lot for the usefulness of the instrument. Forget about the strap and bag, the instrument is well worth the cost.

Looks and sounds beautiful!
I'm in love with this sweet and mellow sounding ukulele! The new price was $139, but I took a chance on a "like new" one for $86. I'm a single mom with two small boys. I thought the higher price would stress me out every time my sons wanted to play the instrument. It came with a small scratch on the front near the binding. I buffed and dapped it with polish. Hardly noticeable. I'm pleased with my purchase. My boys are too.

Great sounding Ukulele
This ukulele has an excellent fit and finish. Could not find any flaws and the high gloss finish is very nice. The strings although not super low are still low enough to be easy to play. Intonation was good. The sound is also very good but I changed out the factory strings to a very good set with a low G. I believe it sounds much better now. Overall I can see why this is a top rated best seller.

Lovely, but I preferred the KA-TEM sound-wise
This Tenor uke arrived promptly and in perfect condition. It was set up nicely and once tuned, sounded fine right out of the box. However, upon playing this and the similar Kala KA-TEM (exotic mahogany satin finish) I have to say that to me the KA-TEM has a bigger sound. I think it is because the beautiful gloss coating on this KA-TG muffles the sound a bit. These are laminate ukes, very nice quality at a very nice price.

It's a KA-TG, not a KA-JTE!!!
I would have sworn that the product page said KA-TG (which is what is pictured) when I ordered it. Now that I've come back to review it, the product page now says KA-JTE! This is NOT an archtop. It's a nice sounding uke, but it feels like it should produce more volume. Exellent construction. Easy action.4-1/2 stars? Am I been too hard on it? Is my preference for sopranos coloring the review? Anyone wanting a relatively inexpensive tenor ukulele will not be disappointed. I really like it. I just don't love it.

Hm.
I ordered a KA-TG, and was sent a KA-TEM. I didn't notice the change before because instead of checking the model number, I assumed the change in color was a variation in color. I am contemplating sending it back for a KA-TG, but I've already set a new set of strings on the uke.Since the only difference seems to be the gloss and the colors, I will be reviewing the KA-TEM as the KA-TG. The sound is great; however, since the strings were set to high G, I had to replace the set to a low G tuning. The whole thing is somewhat heavy and hard to play on while standing, but that might be because I am not experienced on the ukulele. On the back, the seem where the wood is divided seems to have been covered by a black line, but the line is not completely centered. The creation of the dots on the fretboard have seems to have made lighter parts around it, making the fret dots more noticeable. Also, the metal on the frets are not completely smooth, and have started digging into the strings. However, for a new, less-than-$150 ukulele it is an okay product. I would give it a 2/5.

Amazing quality and soubd for the price.
Amazing ukulele for the price. It is at the same level of my other two ukulekese that ate both in the $500.00 range. Highly recommended!

Good uke
I like the size of this as there is more room for fingers and would be a good start for a beginner learning chords. I do think it is overpriced and the sound isn't as free as my non-glossy uke. It is really well made though and that counts for lots.

A uke for all
I bought this for my daughter who is learning to play. She is enjoying this ukulele as it looks good, sounds better, and plays comfortably. The sound is rich, the neck is a good length and width, the finish is clean and sheen. Overall a very good buy for the young ukester in your life.

Very Happy!
Apart from some minor unsanded areas on the bridge, (easily fixed) I am very happy with this instrument. I've played many Uk's and for the price i am quite pleased. After a few days it holds tune very well and is a joy to play.
