Its really small. Easy to use. The range is great as well. We have a 90 foot garden and signal went to the bottom of the garden and still got 20 meg speed. normally I get nothing. Crazy. The UI is great and it updated to the latest firmware and restarted fine, and thats without having to download the firmware and stick it on a USB drive. If I had paid double for this I would till very be happy with it. It also acts as a repeater as well. proper amazing for £30. and it runs from a micro usb cable. Got it powered from an always on USB port on a gaming rig then through powerlines to the router at the other side of the house.

got 3 of these running on home network, range good , easy to set up, Only issue is on power up takes approx 1 to 2 minutes to connect. i have them running in all three modes repeater etc.vey useful for setting up a small independant network, use one on pi 4b and pi5 to greatly expand wifi coverage , use the ethernet port which takes the load off the usb ports. i did have a usb wifi extender which worked how ever because i was using a number of usb periferals i was getting wifi drop via vnc , ud=sing the ethernet port solved this

The comments regarding power users are pretty accurate, if you have tech knowledge it is likely very good. For normal humans such as myself it is limited. From the get go it reported 0.39% memory available, so no chance of installing any of the plug in library. Doesn't seem to do file sharing although it did find my VPN configuration. I travel constantly, so this will work as a repeater for hotel networks etc. That's about all this human can get it to do!

Fantastic little product for the price. It's immensely tiny, smaller than the palm of your hand but does the trick. As expected it's throughput isn't the best, Ethernet you're capped with 100mb ports, and the wifi is capped at 300Mb, but this is likely more than enough if you're just trying to tether your mobile connection. Wifi range isn't the best, but fine for say an hotel room which I think is the idea of this device.My main criticism is with the way the firmware is done on these devices. I'd read some reviews of this product and they mentioned file sharing across LAN, which is what influenced my purchasing decision as I was interested in something low cost/small for it. Unfortunately it turns out this, among many other of their lower priced routers, had the feature removed so that other features could take its place on the latest firmware versions. They give instructions to bring back the functionality which involves some knowledge of linux command line and/or openwrt, but unfortunately it seems like the packages just aren't on their servers for this device since when I went to install what they listed on their forums, it says some of the packages aren't available. They do offer the older firmware on their website which you can freely downgrade to get the functionality back, but I'd say for most people I wouldn't recommend doing that. You won't have access to recent security patches if you do.They've said in the future they might add it back by default, but well, we'll see. Personally I find it a bit odd that functionality can just be removed by firmware updates.

Wow! This device is slighly bigger than a matchbox and has more functionality than routers costing many times more. I wish I'd discovered these earlier.It's got a full copy of OpenWrt installed. If you're unfamiliar with OpenWrt, it's an open source wireless router project that has just about every conceivable configuration option available, and you can install other apps from a list of about 8,000.There's a polished UI on top of OpenWrt out of the box, but you can also open the native OpenWrt UI called Luci.I've configured it to act as a VPN client and router to connect to home from a remote location. I chose WireGuard VPN because it's easy to setup and enables site to site, so both subnets are permanently connected and visible to each other.I'm definately going to buy more of these. You can just configure it at home and take with you to plug in wherever you need it.

The router (firmware v2.27) works well in repeater mode when the (hotel) WiFi signal strength is good. If however the WiFi signal strength is weak, the router becomes unstable and the repeater (LAN side) WiFi signal drops out regularly every few seconds. This instability is known to the gl-inet sofware development team who say the next firmware release will go some way to alleviate these types of instability, but from the email response I received it sounds as if they are not completely certain whether they have fixed it completely. I'm really hoping they have though.I've been using this device on the road constantly now for 7 months and what I can say is that it does require (quite alot of) patience and tlc at times even when you are familiar with its quirks.I connect regularly to the Internet via NordVpn, but the above mentioned instability has nothing to do with connecting via OpenVpn.Don't let the above put you off though. It's a great little router when the hotel WiFi setup is good.

We used it to create an AP on an existing Ethernet network. We found this unit to be a very versatile router that is easy to set-up. Range is good too.You don't get a power supply so do remember to order a USB charging plug if installing as a stand-alone router.

I used this connect an old TV - which only had an ethernet port - to my wifi network (i.e. a bridge). Have to say I always have to mentally prepare myself when it comes to any new hardware as usually it involves hours of fighting/firmware updates/resets to get things working. But this worked first time! I connected my phone to its built-in wifi, used the dashboard to connect it to my house wifi, plugged the supplied ethernet cable into the TV, and it worked first time!This is very neat too, its small and it's USB powered so was able to power it from the TV's USB socker, so the wires are not visible (happy wife!)

Works like a charm, even with the hotel splash pages. get the firmware update going and watch for open ports and attack surfaces. I used cable on the outside and WLAN on the inside. Work like a charm. Maybe a weekly reset is needed, but hey, it packs a punch, fast, easy, runs.

I bought two of them, one to place a wireguard server at home and the second one to use as wireguard client and travel with it. It was very easy to setup, the interface is great and easy to understand. I am not too experienced in networks (but still a little) and I had no difficulty doing these things work as I intended. So I can connect from anywhere with my home IP, which is great. It's tiny and easy to carry around. Usb and ethernet cables are provided. What else to ask?

Very interesting abilities in configuring it. Fast delivery. Is quite powerful. Just be aware. It is 2.4Ghz only.
