These hinges are easy to install and look great. However, they do squeak (fixed it with WD-40) and not all of them do it. And overtime, they begin to leave a black residue on walls and doors when hinges are installed. So you have to wipe down around them every once in a while.

Nice looking, modern black hinges. My only complaint is the screws that come with them have paint chipping off them, it's not super noticeable and I intend to use a paint stick or something to fix them but that's an extra step I don't think I should have to take. Besides that, there is a lot of plastic waste for these, everything is wrapped individually in plastic bags. Not sure if a better way to protect the hinges but figured I'd mention it for anyone who is concerned about that. Otherwise these are great.

Decent hinge for the money. However, just like other reviews say, the pin is not easy to remove and replace. It does come out but you have to work at. Not sure if it is manufacture issue or how it is designed. If this is not a problem for you, then you should be happy with the purchase. For me, pulling heavy doors on and off when doing floors, it was a little frustrating.

I replaced my old silver hinges for these to match new door hardware. The hinges were all in good condition with no scratches. The color was a good matte black and not shiny. I did have some trouble removing the pin from the hinge, but soon realized that removal was not even necessary in order to change the hardware. Just unscrew one existing hinge and replace it with the new, intact hinge. Do this one at a time and you'll never even need to remove the door or the hinge pins. An easy update!

Ordered 5-12 packs and replaced all the hinges in the house - 20 doors total. I ordered 12- packs instead of a 60-pack because it would arrive sooner. Perfect replacement for the original brass 3.5 x 3.5 hinges. They contrast beautifully with the white painted doors. Very easy to install.Several recommendations:1 - Use a drill. Your wrists will thank you. If you don't have one, I recommend  Milwaukee 2691-22 18-Volt Compact Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit . For a homeowner, it will meet or exceed 99% of your needs.2 - If painting, paint the doors first. Who cares if you paint over the old hinges. Replace the hinges after the paint dries.3 - Replace one hinge at a time. This way you never have to remove the door from the frame, and it becomes a one-person operation. So much easier.Don't rush, take your time and it will look great.

When I received my product I immediately went to work swapping our old brass hinges for these beautiful matte black ones. We had recently changed out the door knobs to matte black ones, but the corresponding brand hinges were very pricey. These ones are great value, making replacing a lot of hinges affordable. I was able to swap them out myself by switching one hinge at a time. A few of the hinges and screws arrived with minor scrapes or chips, but nothing noticeable unless you stop to inspect up close. They instantly change the look of our home! They are plenty strong for our solid wood and glass French doors. As for durability, I will update if things change.

We went are changing our home's original antique brass hardware to wrought iron/flat back. These hinges perfectly replace Lawrence brand hinges who no longer makes this style especially in black. I used couple dozen of these hinges. They are a Chinese hinge. Quality on the hinge itself seems very good for the price. The screws are painted and the paint is chipped off on the sharp edge of the screw heads. Simply take a black Marks-A-Lot marker and coat around it, it will not be noticeable. I had no paint chip problems with the actual Philips head grooves using a power screwdriver/drill. Make sure your bit is new, fits properly, set the clutch low and finish final tightening with a hand screwdriver. If you spin the bit its going to chip up the paint, that's the nature of painted hardware.
