Ok I plugged a rear fat motorcycle tire but puncture was close to the middle the safe zone like a puncture is in anyway a safe zone but anyway I don't use the grease I use ShoeGoo sold at Walmart or here on Amazon! Look ShoeGoo is an industrial strength unlike any other product I discovered 32 years ago using it to seal and repair Lexan bodywork and panels with zero failure it also permanently adheres to metal poris material like denim, leather pleather vinyl, plastic rubber of all kinds including tires! Wood, ceramic , glass you name it and you can peel it off you skin like Elmer's glue but with more authority ! Reason I mentioned this is there is a science to plugging tires and sometimes the glue like icky tar stuff that's gooped into the tire plug material sometimes can get a little hard or not spread as good as one needs for immediate air holding repair so goop some shoeGoo on the plug the full length not excessively but but enough to cover atkeast the whole length of the tire slug plug after it has already been inserted into the the tire plugger , this will help the plug slide in easier and not only help seal the tire plug but make sure it fills in any micro spaces in the radial belt as well and seals the deal but is pliable for tire movement and flex and water and heat resistant aswell , this will last the whole life of the tire Iknow this cause I've discovered this after forgetting I actual plugged a tire when getting new ones installed and tire techs are like man that plug is part of the tire! Make sure after few minutes to razor cutoff level the remaining tire plug with already dried ShoeGoo that squeezed out on surface of tire ... I hope this helps as I discovered the 199% true way to science the crap outta tire plugging with confidence ... I'm not saying or telling you to not replace said tire after plugging in just saying I've gotten my monies worth out of plugged tires after plugging them this certain way! And the new and improved tube steel handle is a bonus and makes it super easy to push tire plug into puncture area and the stopper keeps it from over inserting the plug and loosing it cause of over insertion that was an issue with older typical plug handles were you had to trial and error to get back going and nobody has time for that ...
