Well built and powerful
Much stronger than the old Ryobi I replaced it with. That one was fine for 10 years until I burned it out, but this one is better built and easier to use. The old saw required a finger to operate the interlock and another to simultaneously operate the trigger. Glad to see that on the new saw I can just slide to the unlock position and the operate with just one finger.

Best cordless reciprocating saw I've ever owned.
This is a beast. I smoked my first brushed Ryobi reciprocating saw P519 within a week of getting it. This is a much better saw, far more power and much more comfortable. It is well worth the extra cost.

It does an excellent job
I bought this primarily to trim tree limbs and heavy shrub. It does an excellent job of that and is more efficient and easier to use than my chainsaw. I was pleasantly surprised by how long it ran on one charge of a 4 Ah battery.

Cuts branches like a champ
Works great.Used it with 6Ah batteries cut up a lot of fallen branches without a problem. It does get a little hot but that's probably normal. Not the lightest saw but it isn't too bad.

Great battery life, powerful.
The first one I got died after 30ish minutes. The replacement unit has been working well. Brushless is the way to go, longer battery life.

Putting the brushless design to the test
I burn through the Ryobi standard reciprocating saw quickly and by burn through I mean literally. After a couple months of ranch work they start smoking and quit. It would be an acceptable product for a homeowner that uses the saw for occasional home projects. These failures lead me to spend the extra money and try their brushless design. I purchased two of these to test. One of them experienced a failure with the latch that holds the blade in place. The other is still being used and more time is needed to determine if it will outlast the standard saw. The main difference I have noticed between the two Ryobi designs is the way the motor engages. The motor engages immediately on the standard saw when the trigger is pulled while the brushless design has a very slight delay. This has not been negative, just different.

Well, I love the tool^__~ It survived without any protective wraping out or inside~o~
First you schedule your work/life around when your suppose to get what you paid for-already- when they say your going to get it.... At least it wasn't the full week they said -amazon goat path delivery- Just a day.... No, pain. BUT,as I stood in the window blind watching it come out of the U-Haul van Oh Boy, and come up to the mail box at which it WOULD HAVE FIT! Only to be past by and thrown 5-6 feet up on my porch into the snow! Good thing I was home!Yes, could have been my crystal chandler from Gramma's estate^__~ THROWN! Good old frisbee toss...That's over the make shift snow break and steps plus a good foot! Enjoy the phot! I'm standing in front of my front door. That's my foot print trying to focus my 5yr old $20 "disposable-work" trac phone^__^ Only camera...Should have used USPS!(#1)! Rain, Snow, Bullets, Pitbulls, Detroit in general USPS has never failed me 58yrs!

Not packaged
I like how it is a little bit heavier than the cheaper one but that to me would just mean it's built better the only thing I didn't like was the shipment the tool was left exposed on my porch not in packaging. If I lived in a bad neighborhood someone would of saw it was a brand new ryobi saw and could've taken.

Nice weight and price for an recip saw that has the orbital feature for faster cutting in wood
Unless you are doing daily demolition work and you do it the majority of your day (ie. a Pro Contractor), this saw is perfect. As a homeowner, it ticks all the boxes.Lightweight- both my wife and I can use it easily - even one handed to position it- easy to prune trees as you usually have to lift your tool above your headCuts quickly- orbital cutting feature for faster cutting through mixed materials ie metal / nails in old fencing or framing- orbital feature not common even on pro-level tools- rated good ie mid-pack compared to other consumer and pro-recip sawsGood price- there really is not a cheaper saw with all these featuresGreat features:- simple lever that you can use one handed to minimize any direct exposure to the blade (and possible accidents) - most others have this feature so it is good to be in this tool- orbital action- LED light- shock absorbing gripEfficient- with a 4.0 ah battery, I was able to cut down and dispose of one 30ft maple tree (6-7" trunk diameter) and do some heavy pruning on another (3-4" branch diameter) before needing to rechargeIf you already have Ryobi tools, this is no-brainer. Even if you do not, the price is good enough that you could have a one-off tool (I have Milwaukee as my main tool brand). For a Pro, it is a good backup tool IMO.Cheers!

Bad chuck design
The chuck is garbage. I’ve changed 2 blades and the chuck broke on the second one. I have an older model and I loved it, it too is broken, but it’s 8 years old.
