Great little quirky kid friendly gadget for the price - but needs parental supervision :)
So this is a funny little kid-friendly gadget - its clearly aimed at the child learning to talk and recognising items around the home and their traditional ABC's but the cards are a little thin and definitely need 'gentle hands' when using them - hence my suggestion for a lot of parental supervision !! BUT on the positive side its a super cute, portable and handy item - I will use it with my little nephew who is just over two and it will be fabulous for keeping him amused when are are out on the go and he needs entertaining with something fun and new - I'll take it in my bag (fully charged - charging cable included) and then slot in one of the many, many cards included and he'll take great delight in hearing the various words called out and hopefully it will help to expand his vocabulary over time. The voice is good and pretty clear - but a little 'metal-micky' for those of us who remember who that is - but if you are younger than say 45 it means its a bit computerised - but again FOR THE PRICE is a great little fun item. Again, parental involvement is key as you can repeat the word in your own tone and accent and between you and the machine it'll definitely be a winner :) . I'd say it'll be great in the car, in a restaurant, anywhere that you need to entertain a small person for 15 minutes or so and the bonus is that its educational and interactive :) It would also be handy for someone learning English and wanting to get the right pronunciation. All in all a super item and I know my little nephew and I will have great fun using it.

Fab and educational
OK, let's get the elephant in the room question out of the way for UK buyers - yes it is American pronunciation and yes the letter Z is said as 'zee'.There are also some more USA types of words in the set, but if we wanted to quibble, then maybe 20 out of the 510 are USA not UK words/pronunciations.That aside, and I do think you need to overlook these (take them out if it really gets your goat), it is a great tool for learning, and I love the cheery voice and accompanying sounds for some of the cards. It makes learning so much more fun.The cards are double sided and come colour coded into categories too, making it easy to choose a learning topic as well. When I had forgotten to turn it off by the button, it put itself to sleep, so that is handy to know as well. Cute design and really easy to hold in the hand as well.

Great idea
This flash card toy is a great idea to encourage learning words, talking, and identifying the corresponding images. It is easy to use, just pop the card into the machine and it speaks the word that matches the picture. Occasionally it has a blip and doesnt recognise the card but you just take it out and reinsert and it is fine. Small and lightweight so easy enough for little ones to hold.

Great tool for learning to read
Our 4 year old granddaughter has shown an interest in learning to read and has learned her letters and the sound they make, so we thought these flash cards would be a good asset in showing her what completed words look like for different things. They are double sided and have a clear picture and the word in lower case on each card. They are in categories such as animals, food, everyday objects, etc. When you insert the card into the machine it sounds the word and in some cases (such as the animals) makes a sound too. However, the one thing which would have made this flashcard set perfect would be a pull across tab over the window so that the child can try and read the word for themselves before seeing the answer. The cards are robust and easy to use.

Such a great idea!
This little device is fab. You turn it on, put a card in & press the button. The device then says what is on the card. Its great for kids to learn as they match the picture on the card with the word they hear. I am a TEFL (English as a Foreign Language) teacher & this device is fabulous for kids to learn pronunication of words. You can also use the card on there own for interventon work by spreading them out on a table & asking the child to find the dog, cat or whatever is on the cards, which is a great way of checking comprehension. There are 510 cards so plenty to keep kids learning & entertained. Overall this is a great product that I highly recommend.

Great teaching aid
This set of talking cards is a great tool to teach children nit only words with picture recognition but also good pronunciation. It's great for preschoolers. It is easy to use and with it being rechargeable, it is portable enough to take with you.Although primarily for the use of children, it can also be useful for people whose first language isn't English. With picture recognition, it makes it easier to associate each word with the object. A 510 word vocabulary is a good start for a child or adult alike. It is well made to stand up to a few knocks and is reasonably priced. A great idea.
