Imagine my unconfined joy when I found this alternative
On average, I get through about one keyboard per year.Given that we-know-what's-best-for-you Mac no longer produce a comparable product I was resigned to forking out £129 for the wireless 'Magic' Keyboard. Not that I need or want to spend £129 on a wireless keyboard.Imagine my unconfined joy when I found this alternative.Although the keyboard is pretty much exactly the same from a cosmetic point of view, the only slight difference is the weight of the keys. The ones on the Matias keyboard are definitely more 'plasticy' and noisier. But it's not a deal-breaker and the overall quality is excellent.Glad to see a company has filled this gap in the market.

Do not buy this keyboard
The positive thing first: The keyboard looks very much like the discontinued Apple model, its overall appearance is of good quality, and it has the same features, in particular the useful additional two USB ports. Furthermore, it has a little wheel to regulate the audio volume and this works so smoothly, by fractions of the 16 Mac's volume levels, so that you can even set the volume to any level in between (which might make a difference at the low-volume end). However, the keyboard is tragically let down by the keys. This is where you notice a real difference with the Apple keyboard. The keys in this model are very loose and there is little resistance, and for these reasons the keys are unreliable. A single keystroke can result in 0, 1 or 2 characters typed, especially if typed quickly as one usually does for mails or documents. For example, it happened to me that when typing the word "and", I got "andd". Almost every time. This is not because of a strange typing style of mine; this has never been the case for me with any other keyboard, including the old Apple model.I can't give more than one star because the main purpose of a keyboard is to allow a user to type information reliably. The keyboard fails miserably on that front. If, while typing, you have repeatedly to correct what you just wrote every few words, you lose the flow and this is frustrating.I think there would be a market for this type of good-looking wired keyboard. The newer Apple models are (even by Apple standards) absurdly overpriced and less useful. It's a pity that this model doesn't provide a good alternative.I returned the keyboard and was promptly refunded. This was professionally dealt with, and I have no complaints there.

So much better than the original . . . .
I’ve been struggling for two years to use the Mac Keyboard that ships with the iMac. It’s just too small and isn’t as responsive as older keyboards that I still use with my older Macs.I ordered this one through Amazon and it’s truly amazing. It’s a full size board, conforming to British English standards (the '£' key is in the right place!) and it looks as if it’s been designed and made by Apple. My life is back together and all of the frustrations experienced in struggling with the ‘teeny-weeny’ original keyboard for so long are already part of the past.Well done Matias for producing a great design and well done to The Keyboard Company for getting it to me two days ahead of schedule.Thank you.

it's not a mac product, but maybe that's a good thing.
works like Apple, maybe doesn't quite match in quality, but at least it's a few less coins falling into the bottomless pit of Apple's off shore tax avoiding money hole... having said that, I ordered it from Amazon, so who am I kidding?

Ridiculously inaccurate typing - lots of multiple letters
Good: My initial impression of the keyboard = quality item that was very well made and a pleasure to type on.Bad: Unfortunately, I soon realised that it had an annoying and sporadic habit of typing multiple letters - even though I'd only tapped the key once. For me this made the keyboard next to useless, as I spent far too much (unnecessary) time editing what I'd typed. Not everything is picked up by spellcheckers either and isn't that easy to spot with a quick visual scan - e.g Ass instead of as, which could lead to very embarrassing consequences...I initially though that I'd received a 'faulty' keyboard, so I returned it and got a replacement, only for replacement to do the same thing, though admittedly slightly less often. I returned the second keyboard for a refund.

Faded Keyboard
I was given one of these as a I needed a replacement for my somewhat tatty, but longest lasting keyboard (Not by Matias). This new matias keyboard operates fine but, like some other reviewers, after almost 15 months the bulk of the keyboard lettering has worn off. Not a pretty sight! Won't be replacing it with another one, that's for sure !!

Disappointed with this keyboard
I’m disappointed with this keyboard. Within about a year, many of the letters had rubbed off the keys (see photo). Now the space bar often types two or three characters for each press. Very disappointing for the price. I don’t recommend this product.
