Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped Hiking Boot

I picked these based on great reviews and was not disappointed. I wear a women’s 10 in non-athletic shoes and a 10.5 wide in athletic shoes. Amazon recommended a 10, and I’m glad I got the 10.5 wide. I can lace them tight for a nice fit, and they don’t press on my bunion.Pros- Not heavy, but feel sturdy enough for rough terrain, snow and ice- Beautiful color and red accents- Don’t make my big ole feet look too big- Comfortable from the minute I put them onCon- Insole is glued down tightly and not removable. All shoe manufacturers should make their insoles removable!

I was heading out on a Christmas market cruise in Europe and we didn’t expect snow in early December so I wasn’t worried about footwear. Suddenly, we learned that there was unseasonable snowfall along the Danube and it was going to continue. I was in need of waterproof hiking boots and I bought these on Amazon in last minute desperation. (They arrived literally one hour before we left for the airport!) Because of a bunion on my right foot, I do need a wider shoe but I’ve learned that most wides aren’t truly wide and I sometimes have to buy a men’s size. Not so with these! Although I did swap out the insole with the inserts I wear in my workout shoes for more arch support, these shoes needed no break-in time in Europe. The very first day we were walking in snow in Prague and over the course of 10 days, I walked an average of 6 miles a day in snowy, icy cities. The shoes felt like I had been wearing them for months already. No blisters, no red spots from rubbing, just a really comfortable shoe that kept my feet dry and warm. I’m so excited about these that, even though these were on sale, I’m going to buy a second pair in another color at full price. I’m very impressed.Oh, and extra points for the quick lace up option at the top. This shoe was thoughtfully designed.

I am very pleased with these boots. They were super comfortable right out of the box and I wore them for three straight hours immediately upon putting them on. I love the classic look of these boots and can't wait to hike in them! I looked at a few different colors that were available in my size (11 women), and initially chose the classic tan and red because of the lower price; but I found I really love the color and am glad I chose thetah. They remind me of hiking boots I used to have when I lived back in Pennsylvania growing up.This new pair of Columbia boots are true hiking boots, with cushion all around the ankle and tongue, a flexible thick sole and also appear to be waterproof by design, although haven't tested that yet.The down side is the boots will be too hot to wear in the summer here in Florida, but are working great for the unexpected cold snap right now. They will come in handy for trips out of state in my camper. A+ boots!

I was pleased that these shoes aren't nearly as heavy as previous versions I have purchased. Even though they aren't "light weight" they are light enough to wear comfortably while walking or hiking. I have worn them in the rain, and they kept my feet dry and warm. I ordered the wide width, and while they are wider than the regular style, they aren't extra wide. If you have moderately wide feet, these will be perfect. I found them to be comfortable from the first wear, but they were a little stiff at first. After a couple of wears, they loosened up and conformed more to my foot. I will say that the foot bed isn't super soft, but it is very suppotive. I've gotten used to memory foam, so it was a little bit of an adustment back to a regular footbed. Overall, they seem very high quality, are durable and comfortable. I would buy again.

The shoe was nicely made and looked to be good quality. When I first tried them on , they were comfortable and looked cute. I walked around in them for about an hour when I started to feel rubbing on my right ankle in the back. I needed these for a long hike and knew they were not going to work for me. I think these would be a great shoe for shorter walks or to wear around the yard. I did size up half a size because I would be wearing heavier socks and they fit great. Just not for a long hike that I was planning.

Leí los comentarios y decían que pidieras tu talla, así lo hice y pedí el 5 y me quedaron perfectos. En cuanto a la comodidad, los probé en una caminata de al menos 7 horas, en ningún momento me cansaron o me lastimaron. Su desempeño fue genial, lo noté porque en el sendero había muchas piedras y la parte de enfrente super reforzada, por lo cual nunca sentí el impacto de las piedras.En serio, están bien padres, las amé, buen agarré, que les digo, son una maravilla. Eso sí, no los estrenen el mero día que vayan a salir a la montaña, usenlos días antes para que se adapten a sus pies.

La bota es perfecta y muy comoda, sin embargo, le quedó un poco grande a quién se las regale asi que consideren que la horma es un poco más ancha y sugiero pidan medio número menos al de su talla normal

Es mi primera compra y la entrega fue a tiempo.Son muy cómodas y suaves al caminar.Le doy 4 estrellas porque la agujeta de una bota viene rasgada, y me hace pensar que la agujeta se deteriorará pronto.
