Excellent GPS Performance
Excellent GPS Performance I recently purchased the HGLRC M100-5883 GPS Compass Module to upgrade my FPV setup, and I’ve been very impressed with its performance so far. Right out of the box, the build quality feels solid — the casing is compact, lightweight, and well-sealed, which is perfect for mounting on drones where every gram counts. The included cable was the right length for my installation, and the connector fit snugly without feeling loose. Setup & Installation: Wiring and configuration were straightforward. I’m running it with a modern flight controller on Betaflight, and it recognized the GPS almost instantly. The integrated compass is a big plus, as it simplifies the wiring and reduces the need for separate modules. I mounted it on a carbon fiber frame and still got a strong signal, though I’d recommend keeping it as far away from high-current wires as possible to minimize interference. Performance: The upgraded 10th generation chip really delivers. From a cold start, it achieved a 3D fix in around 25–30 seconds, and warm starts were nearly instant. Once locked in, it consistently held 18–24 satellites with rock-solid stability, even in areas where my older GPS modules struggled. Position accuracy was excellent — I noticed a clear improvement in GPS hold and return-to-home precision compared to my previous unit. Compass Accuracy: The onboard 5883 compass is very responsive and accurate, making it ideal for fixed-wing navigation and long-range flights. After calibration, heading data stayed consistent, even during aggressive maneuvers. I also noticed improved yaw stability during GPS-assisted flight modes. Durability: So far, it has handled vibration and weather changes without any issues. I’ve flown in both hot summer sun and humid conditions, and it has stayed reliable. Verdict: For the price, this is one of the best GPS/compass combos I’ve used for FPV. The fast satellite lock, stable readings, and compact size make it a perfect choice for both fixed-wing UAVs and multirotors. If you’re looking for a dependable navigation upgrade, this is an easy recommendation. ⭐ 5/5 — Reliable, accurate, and worth every penny.

Fast GPS lock
A Tiny Titan for FPV Builds I've been building FPV drones for a while now, and the HGLRCM 100 GPS unit has become my absolute go-to for reliable positioning. Pros: Lightning-fast Satellite Lock: Compared to my old BN-880, the HGLRCM 100 acquires a lock in what feels like half the time. It's ready to fly almost as soon as I power up. Rock-solid Tracking: The GPS tracking is incredibly accurate and maintains a strong signal even during aggressive maneuvers. My old BN-880 used to drop satellites during aerobatics, but the HGLRCM 100 just keeps chugging along. Compact Size: The small form factor makes it easy to fit into tight builds. Integrated Compass: No need for a separate compass module, which saves space and simplifies wiring. Cons: wiring: First time I wired up this unit I put the wiring harness in backwards there's one side that goes to the GPS unit and one side that goes to the flight controller however they are not labeled so be careful and watch out. Overall: If you're looking for a top-notch GPS unit for your FPV builds, the HGLRCM 100 is a fantastic choice. It's fast, accurate, compact, and reliable. Whether you're flying freestyle or long-range, this GPS won't let you down. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Great GPS/Compass unit
Using this with a Vapor D6 (stock gps has no compass) on betaflight 2025.12. Once I realized the new betaflight does compass declination a little differently this thing has been great. The manual is attached to the sale listing showing the needed orientation (flip 180 I believe.) Works perfectly with position hold and GPS rescue. I had a failsafe about 1.5 miles out because of my own stupidity and this little guy guided my quad back home into radio range no problem. If you have a 3d printer this model is pretty common so there are tons of models already out there for mounting options. For the price I really don't see why you'd buy anything else.

Probably the best GPS chip you can get your hands on.
This thing is TINY, and it works super well. I needed a decent GPS for a ROS2 project, and saw this after doing some digging. Its quite popular in the ardupilot community. I had no issues getting both the GPS and compass working with ros2. The GPS locks on crazy fast even inside my house which caught me off guard. My experience with other GPS chips has been hold it up high and maybe it will lock after a while if you are testing inside. I had to verify the accuracy it locked on so fast, and it was spot on. I will likely buy this again if I happen to need another GPS chip.

It does work
Pros: good pricing, lock quickly. Cons: pinout order is inconsistent comparing to other vendor; False advertising about min voltage 3.3V, does not work at all at 3.3V. It requires at least 3.7V to operate normally.

Fast lock, lots of satellites.
EXCELLENT! Even with hd video running it makes the first lock of the day within 30 seconds. Don't need to worry about the VTX overheating. Any subsequent locks are so fast that it's ready to go before I even put the canopy on. I calibrated the compass when I initially set it up. However even at another flying location 40 miles away it performed fine without recalibration. I still recommend calibrating at the start of each flying day. I will be buying more of these.

Exactly as described
I cannot get either of them to actually give me data. I have checked wiring 20 times now, done everything according to the instructions. I have a solid red and blinking blue lighjt, but no data. Betaflight doesn't recognize it. Yes, it is on the correct port, rx to tx, sdl to sdl, etc.

Great, powerful, entry level product for a price that doesn't break the bank
Really nice little compass/GPS. Tiny form factor, but gets 17+ sats in ten seconds. I'm a total beginner at this stuff, but it was really intuitive and easy to set up with an FC stack and Betaflight. It has lots of nice little accessories, and bright status lights. It gets rather hot on the ground, hot enough to get the sticker peeling after a couple minutes, but, of course, that shouldn't be an issue in the air.
