Panda Antivirus Pro - 3 Licenses 12 months - DVD (PC)

Used panda for over 1p years

I have been using Panda Antivirus for several years & have been very satisfied with the product, so I sent away for this latest version, not expecting any trouble. It installed ok & everything was fine for 2 weeks. Then I noticed the Panda Icon had disappeared from my Toolbar! The thing had just stopped working, no warning no explainations. The control panel was unresponsive so I tried a re-install - several times - but no dice. As you know, there are no phone numbers these days, just online 'support'. Didn't dare explore the net without protection so I loaded up the Avast Freeware Virus Scanner. This seems to do a reasonable job. I've no desire to pay money for any package that may not work so I've stuck with it for now. I must report that I'm using an 8 year old Toshiba Satellite thats running Vista so maybe this is the problem. Previous incarnations of Panda have been very good, problem free & unintrusive.

Firstly if you have a Mac this is of no use to you whatsoever, nomatter what the blurb may indicate.On a PC it is however excellent value.Very easy to install.Runs effeciently and does not seem to hog resources.Interface is clear and easy to understand.

Just what I needed.

I had not heard of the Panda brand prior to testing this for Amazon Vine. I have a laptop running Windows 10 and the DVD installation was very simple. Play the DVD, enter in the verification code (sited inside the DVD packaging) and my email address. I then validated this subscription via an email and registered an account with Panda. I ran the critical scan first and now feel confident that my laptop is protected against viruses. This is a straightforward programme that just works.

Very easy to install. Got this, put the disk in and its installed very quickly.The scan ran pretty quickly and the anti virus running in the background does not appear to hog resources and slow my computer down. The wireless analyser is also rather handy tool to keep an eye on the security of your wireless network

Didn't agree with my laptop, after the install couldn't get into my laptop unless I used the task manager (alt control del). Did one single virus check and it didn't find anything.Basically with this installed none of my games or programs would install, my webpages refused to load in a reasonable fashion, some refused to load at all (legit pages like google, etc). Basically this program made my laptop SO safe it couldn't access anything I needed the laptop for - even after changing permissions, etc, nothing would run - was very frustrating. Had to uninstall - it made the laptop useless.After install my laptop (which is a fairly fast gaming laptop) is now sluggish, takes up to two to four minutes to load webpages that before used to take less than four seconds and everything loads far more slowly than it used to, and since it has been uninstalled, two of my older games now refuse to actually work anymore - games that definitely did work before install. I don't know what this changed, but it did something that has affected a lot of the way the laptop ran.I really just cannot recommend this based on my personal experience.

Good, Panda has been around for a number of years now and its good anti virus, has never let anything through onto my system and is regularly updated. But its just not quite as slick as Kaspersky which is my go to anti-virus, the interface just isn't as good for me.
