my personal helcor review
I've read quite a lot about different kinds of boots and the technology that goes in to making them. I finally decided to go for the OLD helcor boots that are scuff and water proof. Let me just tell you (and no, I'm not getting payed to write this stuff) that they are truly INCREDIBLE!!they fit like a glove to my feet (I had to try a regular timberland at the store before committing to buy them online), they are beautiful, look smashing with jeans and they are really water proof and durable.but the most important thing is - this pare is seriously good padded inside. the soles are made from a gel-like material and they feel so good after 10 or more straight hours in them.the new earthkeeper edition is significantly lighter (I own one as well), but I like the feel of this old edition much more. they just feel right and they give me a sense of confidence with the durability issue :-)

Great pair of boots
Bought these for the coming winter. Won't know how well they work until then, but initial impressions are positive.I wear a Men's 13.5 in US measurements. I took advice from other reviewers who said they were too big and ordered a 13. HUGE MISTAKE. They were WAY too small. I ordered a 14 and now they fit great.I'm still breaking them in but so far I'm pretty sure I made a good choice. They look great and feel great. Can't ask for more.UPDATE: After a few weeks of wearing these, I have to say these are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I have flat feet so it's difficult to find a pair of shoes that's comfortable after a few hours moving about. But these are great. Every step is like I'm on a cloud. I'm extremely pleased with these boots.

Another high quality Timberland boot.
This is my first purchase of the Helcor leather version of this boot. I have owned and currently still have several others in different leathers or Nubick. With some careful care of the uppers and the occasional quality re-sole they all seem to live on for years. These ones on the other hand don't even seem to need careful care of the uppers! The Helcor feels absolutely indestructible. After the first long weekend in the woods, these came back without a single scuff or other mark despite some rough trails. True to claims, they also survived a close call with the campfire - no damage from short exposure to open flame.Unlike the other 6" Premium Boots where I would typically order 1/2 size smaller than normal, I went with my normal shoe size (10M) for the best fit. Also, the anti-fatigue soles on these seem to be almost as firm as any other similar Timberland boot without the anti-fatigue sole. I may have to add cushioned insoles on my own for.some extra all-day comfort.Overall I'm very pleased with the boots and look forward to a very long life with these as well as my others.

Bit stiff out of the box but....
This is my second pair of Timberland. The first were Timberland PRO Men's 65030 Direct Attach 6" Soft Toe Boot,Wheat, waterproof and insulated that I wore out of the box with no issues. The new pair of Scuff Proof were much stiffer out of the box but, feel awesome now that I have worn them for a day...didn't take long to get more pliable. As far as size, I ordered the size I normally wear and they were fine. I have a tendency to buy boots a 1/2 size larger than my foot size but in this case I ordered my true size and they feel fine. I like that I have room in the toes. Important when walking down an incline. So ya, I guess they do fit a big large but that may be to provide the toe room. Time will tell how these work out. I do like the style and they look good. They are not really blue but almost like a really flat black if that makes sense.

Best Boots Period!!
Very comfortable, durable, easy to clean, cool looking. Went to a few retail places first, price was higher and they didn't have the red heel feature. I found out there are 2 versions, and checked my size. One is more shiny. I want them too, in wheat, and hard to find blue. But I'm happy with these for now. Anybody know where to find them in navy blue size 9 let me know, lol. Love the "Helcor" leather, and will only buy them from now on. Prices seem to fluctuate the MSRP is $170, I paid $122 with free shipping on Amazon, so I could not beat that. But I would have gone to $150. They are worth it, IMO. Great buy.

What you see is exactly what you get.
I was looking for a great boot and I have finally found it! I ordered the black/blue ones. On the picture, they were all black with the red inside the heel and that is exactly what I wanted. An all black boot. No blue. I took the advice of everyone here and bought a size down. I wear 9.5 in sneakers and went with the 8.5 2e which is the wide one. They took exactly a day and a half to get to me. Amazon had them for 103 bucks. I pulled them out of the box and there were cardboard shoe trees inside the boots. They looked great! Put one on and it fit perfectly. Nice and comfy. I can tell already that these are the best boots that I have ordered in my entire life. What are you waiting for? Get them before they go back up in price!

Comfortable for a boot
I looked through the reviews before purchasing this boot. I saw many said it runs large and to get a .5 to 1 size smaller. In my case I wear 12 in Men's due to I have wide feet and most shoes I have to go to a 12. Others I can just get in the 11.5 and have a comfortable fit. I chose to go with an 11 for this boot and made the right choice. It fits but I still have a roomy feel to it but not overly bulky. I like the fact this boot holds my foot as I've had others where you put them on and they just feel like they're bouncing everywhere around your foot but not holding it. I also like the fact these are made of material that's waterproof. I have yet to test the waterproof qualities but will have an opportunity as colder weather comes in. I've started my break in with wearing these with some fairly thick socks(that's why I said it still felt roomy) and they seem to have a good seal on them. Also there is something to this anti-fatigue heel of the shoe. I've had 6-inch Timberlands before (normal ones) and they were good on feet fatigue until they got worn in. Note I had those boots I just mentioned well over 2 to 3 years and eventually retired them for yard work. All in all I was apprehensive on buying these but glad I made the choice. This winter my feet will thank me!
