Need either air acetylene or oxyacetylene
Works well, others sell nickel silver for way less, but honestly I think these are a little stronger. So it's what you are after. Definitely faster and easier with Acetylene, and if doing anything more than sheet metal, acetylene is a must.

Excellent rods - steel hydraulic line repair.
Great rods. Had to repair a wear through hole on a steel hydraulic line on a 44 year old loader - pretty much zero chance of finding a replacement line and having one custom made would have been expensive. I had never brazed before but using my oxy-acetylene torch I was able to get the line red hot and the flux on the rods drew the nickel-silver right into the hole. Took longer to clean and prep everything than it did to complete the repair. Made for a nice, solid repair.

If you use propane, you need to run it on it's highest flame to get it to work right.
You just need a hot flame to get it to work. Works well.

Wouldn’t melt with acetylene torch!!!
Would not melt with acetylene!!! I couldn’t believe it. Maybe I got a bad batch. Either way I CANNOT in good conscience recommend.
