Review: Works Great for Our Goldendoodle With Allergies - Our miniature Goldendoodle has allergies, so we are always looking for food that works well for him. We tried this Instinct Limited Ingredient Salmon recipe, and it has been great. He likes the food, and most importantly, his allergy symptoms haven’t flared up while eating it. Finding the right food for a dog with sensitivities can be difficult, so we’re very happy to have found something that works for ours. We’ll definitely keep buying it.
Review: Great for allergies! - My dog has done extremely well on this food moreso than the “be natural” salmon flavor from Instinct. Her poops are finally firm and tiny (meaning she’s digesting the nutrients well). That alone makes the higher price per pound worth it. Also her allergies are significantly better and she’s itching a lot less. Wasn’t excited about the peas but it replaces the grains and it seems to be better for her that way anyways. Lots of long lasting energy for an 8 year old GSD too so carbs and blood glucose levels are good. High calorie content is also a huge plus so she gets 1.5 cups twice a day (72lbs and active). Her muscles are nice and defined on it, no weight gain, and her skin and coat look fantastic with no hair loss. Also her ear gunk has cleared up a lot and that’s a first. She’s allergic to nearly everything under the sun and finding a food without various animal fats, eggs, other animal protein, or yeast is a challenge. This fits all of those requirements. She tends to be a vacuum when it comes to food and rarely has issues with eating, this one in particular she really likes and goes crazy for it. I wish it came in large breed so the kibble could be bigger but it’s not that big of a deal. Makes for good treats too. The smell isn’t overbearing like some other brands for salmon and it’s dry so little to worry about as far as mold or pests. I keep it in a dog food container and stays great. A bag lasts us about 4-5 weeks depending if I use some for treats and days we have a lot of activity planned like hiking or bikejoring for a few hours and I’ll feed her some extra in the morning and after. All in all my dog is doing better than I could have expected and the price is well within my budget. Actual allergy friendly foods tend to go for $70-$110 a bag so $60 is REALLY nice. And as always I’m appreciative of the subscription discount and prime shipping. Never had any issues with delivery or payment (unlike chewy).

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is the canola oil derived from genetically modified rapeseed?**
A: Canola oil that is genetically modified is poison, as it is derived from unnatural scientific interferences with foods; creating gut-destroying ingredients and includes health-destroying outcomes. It is not like a dog being bred from other dogs. It is evil. Is the INSTINCT dog food including poison GE or GMO canola oil???; excellent question!

**Q: It says it contains "real turkey" but the 1st ingredient is "turkey meal" the last ingredients are freeze dried turkey, heart & liver...misleading?**
A: Hi Nedra, turkey meal is turkey meat that has had the moisture removed, it is a very concentrated form of the protein. The freeze-dried turkey you see at the end of the ingredient list refers to the freeze-dried raw coating on the kibble. Thanks!

**Q: does this product include probiotics?**
A: Hi there, my name is Missy and I work with Instinct. We do not add probiotics to our Limited Ingredient Diets. Our LID recipes are formulated specifically for pets with allergies and sensitivities where less is more and because of that we only include the most necessary nutrients, less ingredients mean less of a chance that an allergy or sensitivity will be upset.

**Q: What is the crude fat percentage? Thanks!**
A: H Aimee, my name is Missy and I work with Instinct. The fat percentage of our Limited Ingredient Salmon kibble is 17.5% as-fed. Thanks!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dog loves it
*by T***E on July 1, 2026*

My dog loves it. We mix with a real food log and a salmon topper. Keep the crunchies for her teeth. She had skin issues for almost 2 years and this is one of the products that healed her.
