Insect Mansion A natural nesting and hibernating environment for lacewings, ladybirds, solitary bees and many other beneficial insects. Constructed from untreated bamboo and pine it provides a hard wearing waterproof home. It will encourage and provide shelter for pollinating insects that help with human food production so they are welcome in gardens and worth providing accommodation for. The Insect cottage consists of a pine outer box with a roof with lots of bamboo canes and drilled softwood inside . A functional and attractive garden ornament for anyone interested in wildlife and nature. The best location for your Insect Hotel Location is important to get the maximum number of insect guests to visit your bee and bug house. It should be set up in a sheltered spot away from the prevailing wind. Solitary bees prefer a sunny spot in direct sunlight other insects prefer a damper environment. If you have a large flower bed, pond or hedge where there is already an abundance of wildlife you will find your hotel will fill up more quickly if sited near to these population centres.

Insect House Review
Actual item excellent and usable BUT there is no hanger, hook or anything on the back to mount it. Also I would have liked to be able to open the 'butterfly' bit, it is totally sealed. Also if the wood in the upper bit gets soggy or needs changing perhaps to pinecones for a change, you can't get to it as the front is all stapled down. Perhaps the two roofs could be made to be detached in future......

'Bee' patient!
Looks good, has been briefly visited by a couple of bees, but my other (smaller, older) one took a couple of years of weathering to be really popular, so this is still a bit new. Patience will 'bee' rewarded!

Bee and bug insect hotel
Great little house for the Bees and Bugs, only downside there is no hook to fix it up but we improvised and it looks great in the garden. The Grandchildren love it too :)

Nice enough, few little issues, and it's not the item in the photo
I picked this product as I liked the design on the photo. However, when the product arrived (quickly after ordering I may add), it is not the same product.Don't get me wrong, the product I received is quite nice. It is natural wood, and has loads of little hidey holes for bees and bugs. I like the green roof - I think it contrasts against the natural wood rather nice. However, as you can see in the photo, there are green splashes of paint on parts of the item where there shouldn't be. I received this product at a discount (in return for an honest review), otherwise I wouldn't have been happy paying full price for this due to the fact the paintwork is sloppy, and it's the wrong item.

Great for attracting bugs to our garden and educating our daughter.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Absolutely loved by our daughter Jessica! We found a couple of ladybirds on the Rosemary, which we 'helped' moved into the bug hotel. This is going to be great for attracting bugs to our garden and educating our daughter.pros:- well made and strong- lots of different areas for bugs and butterfliescons:- no hook on the back. I had to add one myself.I reviewed this at discount in exchange for honest review.
