Question 1

What about the ends? I'd lose 10 inches off the ends of a 39 inch radiator.

Accepted Answer

Please don’t buy these - they are not fit for purpose and impossible to install. Creased flexible sheets can’t be hung without touching the radiator or wall. The product description is false. Buy the alternative Heatkeeper radiator panels instead, which are a far superior product.

Question 2

Is it any more effective than a pack of tin foil from supermarket?

Accepted Answer

Difficult question to answerI have tried household foil in the past - too thin and tears easily.I have now put Radflek behind all my radiators - easy to do and sturdier. Comes with plastic hangers and joining strips so easier to remove and clean behindDon`t think it was all that expensive..

Question 3

can it be fitted on a curved wall in a bay?

Accepted Answer

I would say difficult. Although the plastic stays come in 300mm lengths and will provide junctions to turn the angle to take the curve, the RADFLEX aluminium sheets are not designed to be flexible to take in the curved profile. However, the sheets come in standard widths of 1200mm and they may be fixed individually by cutting to size to fit within the curve. The most important thing to check before you invest in thius system is the positions of the radiator brackets. They have to be at the top end of the radiator and not towards the middle. Quite a lot of the old radiators have the fixing brackets towards the middle and this system is not suitable for them. Hope this helps.

Question 4

My sofa is covering my radiator in my living room do you think this item would help in my situation? I have nowhere else to put mt sofa! Thank you.

Accepted Answer

The radiator reflectors are to prevent heat loss through the wall at the back of the radiator and work very well in my experience. In your situation the product might well work for you as the additional heat reflected would rise above the level of your sofa. Hope this helps.
