We’ve now had it for three weeks and put it through its paces on hardwood floors, carpet, a driveway, and yes — one very regrettable trip through a mud puddle. Here’s the full breakdown: What works really well: The speed surprised me. It’s fast enough to be genuinely exciting without being terrifying for a kid his age. The controller is intuitive — he figured it out in under five minutes with zero help from me. Battery life on the car itself is decent (~25 minutes per charge), and the USB charging cable is a nice touch so we’re not hunting for a specific charger. Build quality: Solid for the price. It’s taken some wall collisions and carpet pile-ups without issue. The tires have good grip on smooth surfaces. It did bounce off our baseboards a few times hard enough to make me wince, and so far, no cracking or broken pieces. Where it loses a star: The controller batteries (4 AAs) drain noticeably fast.
