Review: Great product and price - Great skimmer for an above ground pool and easy install, I've used 2 of these on my second pool I installed it while it was full and never had a leak. Review: Thru-wall skimmer - This is the least expensive thru-wall skimmer I have found. Reviews for other Hydro Tools skimmers were very good, so I purchased this one as an experiment on my 18" Intex pool. Everything you need is included and they also throw in an adjustable "eyeball" return fitting. Installation is fairly straight forward but one thing you will need is a #3 phillips head screw driver - a #2 will not work. I used a battery drill to get it snug and finished with a had held screwdriver to prevent from over-tightening. This worked well, but but it took some torque to stop it from leaking. My one issue was the hose fitting that connects to the bottom of the housing. I used the supplied teflon tape (which is horrible) and I could not stop the fitting from leaking. I tried three times each time with fresh tape, wrapping it completely about 3-4 times, but is still leaked. It also threaded way up into the haousing which did not seem right. I then got some different teflon tape and wrapped it about 8-10 times. I did have a little difficuly getting the threads started with that much tape, but it started and did not thread all the way up into the housing. This worked and is not currently leaking. In case you are wondering, I have used teflon tape 100's of times and also always wrap in the direction of tightning. Overall, the product from a pure quality standpoint is probably a 3, but at this price I do not expect 5-star quality. I rate the overall product at 5-star because it is functional, includes everything you need, and the price. ## Features - ABS Thru-wall pool skimmer - Complete with return fitting and low profile design - Excellent even for deck pools ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0032JSQF2 | | Batteries Included? | No | | Brand | Swimline | | Color | Standard (Grey) | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars (79) | | Date First Available | 15 June 2022 | | Department | Unisex-Adult | | Included Components | Swimline Complete Standard Thru-Wall Skimmer-Grey | | Item model number | 8940G | | Manufacturer | Intakt Clothing MyHabit | | Material Type | Other | | Number of Items | 1 | | Product Dimensions | 32.26 x 24.38 x 24.13 cm; 1.81 kg | | Shape | Round | | Size | One Size | | Sport | Boating, Camping & Hiking, Fishing, Outdoor Lifestyle | | Style | Standard Thru-Wall Skimmer (Grey) | ## Images ![Swimline SPAG8939 Complete Wide Mouth Thru-Wall Skimmer - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61KPSqItTOL.jpg) ![Swimline SPAG8939 Complete Wide Mouth Thru-Wall Skimmer - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81ySlM7AO8L.jpg) ![Swimline SPAG8939 Complete Wide Mouth Thru-Wall Skimmer - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81crkF3vO3L.jpg) ![Swimline SPAG8939 Complete Wide Mouth Thru-Wall Skimmer - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71cTqEPEZjL.jpg) ![Swimline SPAG8939 Complete Wide Mouth Thru-Wall Skimmer - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81Qf44HwuVL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Style** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product and price *by S***K on 17 May 2026* Great skimmer for an above ground pool and easy install, I've used 2 of these on my second pool I installed it while it was full and never had a leak. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thru-wall skimmer *by C***G on 3 June 2012* This is the least expensive thru-wall skimmer I have found.
