EXIT: The Game - Advent Calendar - The Silent Storm Family Game Cooperative Game Puzzle a Day Escape Room

This is such a fun activity to do with our 7 year old. She loves helping to figure out each day’s riddle and discovering which door to open next. So much better than a traditional advent calendar, and we love that it teaches her to think differently to find a solution AND incorporates Santa. The story setting starts off strong and we even had Alexa play snow storm sounds to set the scene. Our daughter looks forward to it every day and my husband and I enjoy it too! We’ll be looking for another one next year!✨

As a fan of many of the EXIT games, I knew that this would not be a letdown. The folks that designed it were very clever and used the box provided to its full potential. Unlike many advent calendars that have numbers printed on its doors, this one challenges you to move from one door to the next by solving puzzles. Sometimes, the puzzles are slightly ambiguous and don't work as well as they should, but most are fun and satisfying.A hint book is provided but my suggestion is to use it sparingly. The solution tends to present itself sooner or later and as you progress through the month, you develop a sense of what to do next.Each morning, I woke up eager to tackle the day's challenge while sipping my morning coffee. Occasionally, the answer came to me too quickly and I was disappointed that my session was over so soon. But more often than not, an adequate amount of solving time got my mind and my day off to a great start. There is most definitely something to be said to solving a particularly clever riddle early in the day - it provides one with a sense of great satisfaction.I will undoubtedly purchase one of the other titles for next December. I feel corny saying this, but it made my Christmas very Merry!

This is a super fun interactive advent calendar!! My family looks forward to after dinner and when we all sit down to work on our daily door together. It is a little challenging and that is what makes it so great!!! We will be ordering another one for next Christmas as well! Highly recommend for a family with teenagers. What a great family bonding time!!!

This is for the Golden Book Advent Calendar. We enjoyed this thoroughly and are getting another one this year. I suspect the one this year will be easier now that we have a better idea of the types of solutions they may implement. You do have to literally think outside the box. The clue book gives you 3 levels of hints, I'll call it nudge, explicit hint, and solution. The majority of the days were solved with no hints at all, 4 we turned to the nudge, 3 of those continued to explicit hint, and 2 of those days were completely exasperating and we ended up all the way to the solution. That being said we had no problem letting it sit for days, and just come back to it later, life happens. We sometimes had to skip days, then do a few in one. It was a lot of fun, we are two adults and one teenager (occasionally).

So far it has been a lot of fun although I'm only on Day 7. The detail is great and the puzzles are challenging. Well day 7 was extra challenging because they put the wrong set of clue cards in the box! I was wondering why nothing was making sense. Thankfully there's hints and solutions for every day!

If you are struggling to get your older child or adult family member a Christmas Advent Calendar, I HIGHLY recommend this little doozy. It uses the Escape Room mentality where you have to look at everything it provides in order to solve the riddle. Only the 1st day is marked the rest of the days are not numbered but you have to use clues and a decoder in oder to find the next days box/room. It's fun for the whole family. It took all of us to solve the 1st day (about 10 minutes). Word of advice look at everything and more importantly make sure your decoder is right side up. Tickles the brain just right and its not an electronic!!!

My kids and I were really excited to play this exit game! Imagine our disappointment when we open day 1…only to find a completely empty compartment. Ok, mistakes happen. So we watched a video of someone else opening their exit game day 1 to live vicariously through them. Cool. Day 2 will be better, right?Wrong. The cards were there but the token key that was supposed to shimmy down…was again totally missing. So now I’ve spent $50 for an advent calendar that I haven’t even been able to fully use because of missing pieces. It will take days to get a replacement, and I’m already two days into the advent season and I can’t gain those days back. Instead of communal problem solving with my kids, we’ve had the frustration of second guessing ourselves over missing pieces.I’m not holding my breath for tomorrow’s fun…Shame on Kosmos’ quality control department.

WOW! I am blown away by the detail! I got this for my gf and I to do, we are on day 3 and already OBSESSED! This far exceeded our expectations. We are so excited for our next one tomorrow! If you want a fun activity and something more interesting for an advent calendar this year, this is a MUST HAVE! I cant wait to get the harder one next year!

This is really fun, and pretty cool what they can pack into each little box, which represents a room with a puzzle. My 11 year old daughter and I are doing it, the puzzles are just the right level of difficulty.

These are always a treat every year. Highly recommended for any puzzle-lover!

I gifted this advent calendar to my boyfriend for Xmas this year and he has been enjoying it and looking forward to it daily.The daily escape rooms are all so beautifully designed and riddles well thought out and fun and engaging. Some rooms are a little easier to solve than others which keeps you on your feet and brings a giggle and laugh to your face when you accomplish it quicker than anticipated. Others take a bit more time and thinking which is perfect and gives you a great sense of accomplishment when you do finally crack it.The 3 tier hint book is also perfect on the side as back up.I have already recommended this to my girlie friends to consider getting this for their partners in the future - highly recommend!

This was purchased for our teenage son as an older alternative to a traditional advent calendar (his younger brothers had toy calendars). It was really surprising as we didn't know what to expect ... we all really enjoyed it! It definitely challenged us all, and we couldn't wait until he opened a new door each day to see what he had to solve. It's a great concept and the resources included are of a high quality. We would purchase any of the other designs again next year. Highly recommend, particularly for teenagers who love puzzles, mystery and mental challenges.
