Removed 90% of the limescale in my kettle and left most of it like new again. Did leave a little of the really thick limescale build up on the bottom plate, but that’s because I only left it soaking for about an hour. If able to leave overnight, I think it would have definitely of dissolved the rest. Had no toxic smell, and rinsed off easily.
