Great band

Roxette are a fairly cheesy duo that specialise and master in the pop rock/power pop genre, often with techno-esque elements. They've done some really great tunes (Joyride, The Look, How Do You Do!, Almost Unreal, Dressed For Success, etc.) and even their 'filler' is almost certainly good to dance to. I bought this CD because it was fairly cheap and has all the above tracks. But you do also get two CD's, so there's plenty of more average material here. I hate to say it, but Roxette are probably one of those bands that require one 'Greatest Hits' CD, not two, but more for your money, one could argue. Either way, I'm happy with the purchase, the CD case has held out thus far and it's good for when I want something to cheer me up or get me in the mood to go out.

Bought for a recently converted Roxette fan.

Bought this compilation because I liked some of their best songs many years ago. I have purchased other best of collections for similar reasons and not bad but maybe leave it at that. This Roxette effort however is one of those that just makes you want to see what other records they have on offer. It is not stuffed full of big hits but there is enough quality tracks on here to just about merit it the full five stars. My favourite songs are 'Dangerous', and 'Fading Like A Flower'. Surprised this record has had so few reviews possibly Roxette are still striving to get the recognition they deserve.

Absolutely the best collection that I could have imagined - includes the not easily available "Queen of Rain" - one of their best!

Zu ABBA-ähnlichem Ruhm reichte es zwar nicht. Was sicher auch an der tragischen Krankheit von Marie Fredrikkson lag, die Roxette immer wieder zu langen Pausen zwang. Aber auch ihre Musik, der Sound änderte sich im Laufe der Jahre. Roxette klangen aus meiner Sicht schon vor Maries Krankheit einfach nicht mehr so frisch fröhlich und frei wie noch zu den Anfängen mit Look Sharp und Joyride Zeiten. Es war der Sound der einzigartig in den Anfangsjahren war. Die Gittarrenfiffs eines Per Gessle bestimmten die rockige Richtung des Duo, und die schöne Stimme von Marie Fredriksson. Ihre oben erwähnten Alben Nr. 2 und 3 gelten heute noch als das beste was die beiden jemals hervor gebracht haben. Ich selbst bin zwar erst ein paar Jahre nach Maries Tod zu Roxette in Form von CDs gekommen, ihre Hits hörte ich aber immer schon gerne. Und so wurde es an der Zeit endlich mal ein relavantes Best of Album in meine Sammlung aufzunehmen. Vorliegende Doppel CD vereint, welch Glück, wirklich alle großen Hits und Ohrwürmer bis zu Maries Rückkehr im Jahr 2006. Macht große Freude diese Doppel CD zu hören. Auch mir nicht bekannte Songs, späterer Alben, sind schön anzuhören. Einzig das s/w Frontcover das Roxette in ihrer Comeback Zeit 2006 zeigt, wo sie keine großen Hits mehr hatten, und fehlende Fotos und Infos aus ihrer großen Zeit Anfang der 90er stößt mir ein bisschen sauer auf. Liegts am Geiz der Anbieter? Oder an Roxette selbst, die es verweigern. Keine Ahnung. Ne Live CD aus den 90ern gibts bis heute ja leider auch nicht. Aber sonst muss auch ich, als Nicht Hardcore Fan, feststellen, diese Doppel CD ist eine schöne musikalische Erinnerung an ein großartiges Schweden Duo, das sich anschickte ABBA in den Olymp zu folgen.

Je suis entièrement satisfait de cet album composé de 30 chansons réunies sur 2 CD. Tous leurs succès sont présents, il y a aussi des faces B. Je suis très heureux de pouvoir ajouter cet album à ma collection. Le son est excellent. Cet album est sortir en 2015 sous étiquette Parlophone Music EU. Bonne Écoute !!!
