Savinelli Pipes 6mm Balsa Wood Pipe Filters (100 Count)

The stem is VERY snug. Following online suggestions, I slipped the pipe into a baggy then popped it in the freezer for 10 minutes. Stem came out easily and there's about a five minute window before it gets really firm again. I don't want to go through that for filter changes so I popped in the plastic extension tube that came with the pipe. That said, it's a beautiful well made pipe and a great smoke.

If you are only looking to reduce the moisture in your pipe smoke then this is a great natural filter. Airflow quality is the same as without a filter. I still felt the same “tongue bite” as without a filter: I was smoking a Missouri corncob pipe for this review. As far as how it cuts tar and nicotine, I have no idea? If that is a big priority for you I would recommend the carbon filters. If you want to cut humidity in your stem … great product

Really work nice. Makes for a cooler smoke and no tobacco in the mouth if you draw a little to hard. Price is really low. I use them once and dispose.

I guess it depends on if you desire or use the filter or not. Thus its a good 4-5 star option if you use such! The only down-play is they are triangular and the hole it fits in is ROUND! Thus I feel "Such defeats the purpose of a filter!" I did try a few and the natual wood seemed reasuring over man made materials. Hey! Some manufacturer could make such out of plastic or Asbestos!!!!! JA KNOW? In such the triangles seem too work and do the job, But I am no tobacco filter expert! Thus I only took the middle of the road and labeled it 3 .... thingies!... perhaps I should have rated it higher?
