Pros/Cons: Never tried these before but they are a good choice for protecting your countertops under appliances that generate a lot of heat! I've used these for my Black and Decker oven toaster, a Ninja Air Pot, Coffee pots, and they come in a set of two! I like the opaque transparent color, slip resistance is excellent, and surprisingly thin considering the effectiveness in heat protection. They pick up every little crumb or piece of lint when you wipe them down, but one side is more prone to nonslip than the other, which was important to me for when I wanted to reposition the appliance without the entire silicone mats moving. I overlapped these slightly to fit better between the wall and the sink edge, but they can also be cut to fit smaller spaces.

To protect certain areas of my quartz countertop, I use these mats in the heavy traffic areas next to my sink and stove where dishes and pots and pans tend to be while I'm cooking. They're translucent, so they're not noticeable, and they stay put on the quartz and do not move at all, yet they're easy to peel up if needed. They're smooth and easy to wipe clean. I love them.

I was already using these mats for heat-resistant protection of our quartzite countertops from hot pans, dishes and such. Then we bought new dining room furniture and, among some other mat sets, we bought a couple of sets of woven mats. Of course, the woven mats became our favorites; however, the mats allowed tiny crumbs and wet sauce spills to pass though to the table top which - though sealed - has a slight "woodgrain" finish that makes ir a little harder to wipe clean with a cloth or sponge. Eureka! These mats are exactly the same width (front to back) and only an inch wider (very easily trimmed down to fit). Now we have an easily cleanable, easily removable surface protector "invisibly" hiding beneath our woven place mats. Oh: They also do a great job for heat protection.

The mat was not "clear", more translucent and hid the beauty of my countertop. The description should be updated. Fortunately, I was able to find a clear mat at a local box store.

Worked perfectly for my purpose. Made a snack storage unit for my mother’s dementia care apt. and needed something to sit underneath it so it wouldn’t scratch her storage bookcase. This fit the bill perfectly. I used the second one on the same bookcase to sit her CD player on so it also wouldn’t scratch the bookcase. Def recommend.
