## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can anybody, please, post a link with matching bolts/ wing nuts for this vice? Thank you!**
A: I used M 8 Square 13 mm square nuts, 6 mm thick and M 8 round head allen key 25 mm bolts with 17 mm washers all stainless steel. The nuts I got on ebay, the bolts I already had. The bolt heads are 8 mm high so they don't get in the way of anything you put in the vice, as opposed to wing nuts which would. Closest match imperial fasteners would also work too.

Good luck,

Warwick.

**Q: Are there retainer bolts with springs to buy that allow an easier screw/unscrew without the nut slipping or having to be kept in place underneath?**
A: I'm not sure what you mean but if you are referring to "Tee" bolts to hold the vice in place on a pillar drill base. I don't know if they are readily available from Bosch but if you have a decent engineering supplier near, you might be able to get some there. I have only used the vice without clamping it to the drill base. If that isn't what you meant please accept my apologies for misunderstanding you.

**Q: Does this fit the Bosch PBD 40 bench drill as implied by Amazon? What is the width between the slot centres?**
A: hi spaniel yes it dose fit the pbd40 bench drill but you do need to get bolts and washers as they do not come with it cant give you width as it is bolted on and would have to remove. hope this helps

**Q: Please explain what the machine tool vice adds to the PBD 40.**
A: Its designed to be fixed to the PBD40 base using the wing nuts supplied with the drill. The slots on the vice base are exactly the same distance apart as the channels on the drill base (95mm) - so they are made for each other. It enables you to hold a variety of workpieces securely in place for drilling. (rectangular or circular as it has V grooves on the vice faces). The vice improves safety and accuracy. It's simple but well designed and I would highly recommend it. You could probably get a cheaper vice from other manufacturers, but it might not fit the custom grooves in the base of the PDB40. It's well made and I reckon it's worth paying a bit extra for this high quality Bosch accessory. John
