Q: Hi does this come as a clear nail varnish?mine looks nothing like the picture

It is clear with a very slight blue/mauve tint. I've purchased this 3 times and each time it was just as shown in picture. I love this varnish, especially when outside in natural light. It really does make my nails look brighter and also seems to strengthen them.

Q: Can this be used on top of a basecoat?

I use it on its own .It is a coating not a nail bleaching so nail is not affected .looks good with two coats

Q: Can you use on the underside of your natural nail tips?

I haven't because I didn't need to. It was so effective at making the whites look whiter but I don't see any reason why you couldn't

Q: What sort of finish does it give? Gloss or matte?

I personally think it is somewhere in the middle of gloss and matte. Natural enough to not be noticed. Indoors your nails look perfectly clear and clean but outdoor in bright daylight for the first few days, you will have a subtle purple tint to them. Not noticeable enough to make pay attention to it. This tint eventually fades away on its own while the protection remains.
