The answer to your question is, these are double edge razor blades coated in platinum on the cutting edges, the type of razor you are looking for is known as a DE safety razor, they come in 2 forms, one is a "butterfly" or a twist to open, the blade is put into the holder and then tightened with a screw mechanism which closes the blade inside. The other is a 3 part razor or fixed head, the top plate, the bottom plate and the handle, when the handle is unscrewed the plates are upside down, the top plate in the palm of the hand, lift the bottom plate off and drop the blade into the top plate's protruding sections, this fixes the blade at the correct angle, place the bottom plate back on and screw the handle on, being careful not to over tighten. The next consideration is what you are going to shave with it, face, legs, different razors have different blade gaps set by their plates and the face guide, the metal strip the blade sits above, this is either mild or aggressive. facial hair that is soft requires mild, hair like mine which grows coarse in one day needs more aggression.  suggestion: Edwin Jagger do a 3 part razor called a de89L, smooth or lined handles at bout £30- £40, this is mild, the other end is a Parker 99R  Butterfly at about £25, this is a heavy weight and needs caution when shaving, no pressing just it's own weight will do the job. I know this is long winded but razors and wet shaving is a matter of personal choice as to what soaps, creams and other preparations are used, take your time with it and the results get there in the end. hope this goes someway to help.

Depending on the type of razor you are using, and the type of facial hair you have, the average is about 4 shaves in a double edge, or 8 in a shavette.  Astra blades are the second best worldwide, the top of the range is Feather from Japan, notwithstanding these are still much cheaper per shave working out at about 10p each. Hope this helps.
