Affordable and Reliable for Active Kids
Shopping for shoes for three boys at the same time is no easy task, so I was glad to come across the Merrell Trail Chaser. I’ve had good experiences with Merrell shoes for myself, but this was my first time trying their kids' line. Honestly, the price and the brand were what caught my attention, especially since other kids’ shoes from unknown brands were more expensive on Amazon. The color selection was a nice bonus—I was able to get each of my boys their own color, which made it easy to keep track of whose shoes were whose. More importantly, all three say the fit is great, and I haven’t heard a single complaint. We went on a family hike recently, and the shoes held up well. The kids had no issues with comfort, and the grip on the soles gave me peace of mind that they were stable on rough terrain.Overall, I’m really pleased with these shoes. They’re solid, comfortable, and well-priced, especially for a trusted brand like Merrell.

These are ideal for young hikersthe construction is firm, but not so hard that they won't like them or that they feel uncomfortable.the no tie set up is safer, and easier for kids on a hike (and parents who don't want to stop all the time for re-tyingthey break in very easily - he didn't have blisters, sore feet, fatigue, or any discomfort - and he likes the look!

Sturdy Shoes
I should start by saying I'm not one to buy name brand stuff for a little tike that's going to be growing out of it soon anyway. However, with kids who are just learning to walk, I think it is crucial to have well made shoes with good support and good tread. I bought these shoes and couldn't be more pleased. They have been durable and provided good grip. They have lasted on trails, playgrounds, parking lots - you name it. Will be looking at this brand again when I look for new ones

Durable, Good Traction, Not waterproof
These sneakers offer great support and durability, making them perfect for various outdoor activities. I bought two pairs for my kids age 4 and 6. We used them hiking in the Smokey Mountains. They are still in good shape, ready for our next outdoor adventure. One of the standout features is the rugged sole, which provides excellent traction on different terrains. Whether on rocky trails or muddy paths, these shoes offer stability and grip, ensuring my child's safety during hikes. The supportive construction also helps prevent any discomfort during long walks. They are not waterproof so be cautious of adventures that involve stepping through water. The kids socks definitely got wet after stepping through some water. The design of the Trail Chaser is both practical and stylish. The sneakers are easy to put on and take off, thanks to the hook-and-loop closure, which is great for kids who are still mastering their lacing skills. Additionally, the color options are vibrant and appealing, which my kids love.Comfort-wise, these sneakers are well-padded and provide good arch support. My children wore them for extended periods without any complaints of discomfort or blisters. They are also lightweight, which adds to the overall comfort and ease of movement. The shoes are a bit stiff and hard to put on at first. They are true to sizing and love that they have half sizes.Overall, the Merrell Unisex-Child Trail Chaser Hiking Sneaker is a reliable and comfortable choice for young hikers. Despite minor sizing and not being waterproof, the excellent support and traction make them a solid investment for any child's outdoor adventures. I do think these shoes are worth the money.

Great shoes. Poor distributor.
The product is great. This would have been my grandsons third pair but they sent the wrong size. I sent them back and got the wrong size again when I reordered. I ordered 10w big kid and got little kid twice. I give up.

Excellent quality
My son has worn this brand and model for years and always gets a larger size to accommodate the orthotic carbon fiber insoles that he has to wear. It’s the perfect for because the toe box is spacious. They last the entire school year. I just with there were a waterproof edition.

Great shoe for 4 and 6 year olds
Really great shoe! Got two pairs - one for each kid. Durable rugged and not too girly. Fit as expected. I spent more on Sauconys for both of them and they wore right through them in a few months. I can tell these will last until they outgrow. Also super traction (not sure whether they’re non-skid). I would buy again.
