Fiskars 6" Softgrip Big Kids Scissors, Ages 8-11, Turquoise-Purple Ombre

Grandkids were delighted with these as an add-on at Christmas. One lefty, one righty, both love to create and these scissors are a great step-up from little kid scissors, but not too pointy to cause concern. Fiskars is generally my go-to for scissors and sharp tools, great products!

Perfect for my grandson

I bought these scissors because I somehow lost all my current scissors or they walked away on their own. I try to place scissors in easy to find locations in different rooms in my house so that I do not have to go to another room to get them when needed & then misplace them. These now live in my living room with similar items that I put in every room. I thought the colors were great & would stick out if they get misplaced. They work great & I purposely looked for this brand. I also like the size- perfect for opening packages & assorted living room activities. I do have large traditional scissors on hand in the junk drawer of the kitchen but I prefer this size for quick fixes. I have bought this brand in the past from a big box retailer & will probably buy again when I misplace them.

These scissors are definitely not just for kids. Not only do I keep a pair in my crafting box and one in my kitchen catch-all drawer, but I also have a pair in my bathroom drawer that I use almost daily. You just don’t realize how many times in a day you encounter child-proof packaging that is also seemingly adult-proof as well. And many of these are on medications, medical products and beauty products. To me, the absolute worst is when I have a migraine and have to wrestle with the migraine medication packaging on the individual pills. There are many other pills that come that way too. It’s frustrating. That’s why I keep the scissors in my bathroom drawer. Snip, and it’s open. But there are lots of other ways the scissors come in handy. How many medications and other products come shrink wrapped at the top? Those are so hard to get open. Start it with the scissors Many products come in boxes that are sealed with a tape-like seal. Cut it with scissors Many bottles have a foil seal that must be broken. Easy to break and remove with scissors. And there are those impossible to open plastic vacuum sealed wrappers that can only be opened with scissors. Keep a pair handy and you won’t regret it.
