Incredible *actually* decodable books for emerging readers
As a homeschooling parent, I am always trying to find great science of reading based resources for my emerging readers. I was really excited when I came across these decodable readers that are actually decodable. Not only that they actually have meaningful and interesting stories and color illustrations (unlike some of the other decodable series recommended to me). This set has been really empowering for my 4 year old and he is always excited to show off his reading skills. I also really like how it has review activities in the back so I can build out extra lessons and practice. Definitely going to get other sets as we build on reading concepts!

Best Phonics Readers/Great graphics
I have homeschooled my children for over 18 years. My last child has down syndrome and is non verbal. I wanted to get her used to using her Proloquo2go to read stories and also to help her learn short cvc words. I can tell you that the stories are perfect in length. The catch my daughters attention and the graphics are great. Here is the important thing! When teaching phonics you need to hear the words over and over again. There is just the right amount of times these cvc words are repeated in the stories. This will allow my daughter to learn the words better because of the amount of times they are repeated. She has to hit the button in Proloquo2go as I read the story to her. I can ask her who was the girl or boy in the story and about the story using the books as well. Non verbal children and children who can speak will love learning from these books. Mom's will not fall alseep reading these readers either! The Charge Into Reading Decodable Readers short vowel readers a,e,i,o, and u are just the right length in the story so you don't loose the childs attention. My daughter is 20 years old and the graphics in these books are perfect for special needs children and adults can learn to read from them too! They are well thought out and in the front of the books are the list of the words you will be reading in the books. You can make flash cards and have the children match the words with the story in the books. They can point to the words in the books as you ask questions and so you also build literacy as well as learning to read. The two go hand in hand! words in the stories are also the right size for young readers. Love these readers and will get more in the future! Enjoy them they are well worth the buying!

Perfect for kids who already know the letter sounds
I started with hooked on phonics. I ordered these to expand the library of books she can read herself. I canceled hooked on phonics almost immediately. These books capture her attention and keep her reading & they're much cheaper. I'll be ordering stage B shortly. I love how they break it up into small sections like Beginning reading, vowel sounds & consonant blends. Hooked on phonics was a great start but it moves slowly. My grandaughter was getting bored so I ordered these to keep her interested. 2nd grandaughter just came in Nov. I'll do the same thing. Basics with hooked on phonics & then move on. Adults can tell when they're little ones have gotten it. Then its time to move on to bigger challenges & these books are the perfect next step so they don't get bored. In short I'll keep using the other sets as she advances. If I were a better teacher, we might not have needed hooked on phonics at all but these are great. Teaching little ones is an art form & it skipped me.

Great for learning
These books helped my daughter progress a lot with reading. They are easy enough for her to read without getting frustrated or discouraged but challenging enough for her to stay interested. The activities in the back are also fun and easy and she seemed to really like those

Great Readers
After using the Bob books for years in my Prek and Kindergarten classroom we finally found an upgrade! An upgrade I didn’t know we needed! Now as a homeschool mom and a reading tutor, my students are finding these new decodable readers so fun and engaging. Before you get started reading, you have a list of all the words in the book, plus high frequency words so you can review them before reading. The pictures are colorful and rich and the text is a great repetition of words. The best part is the fun phonemic awareness activities at the end of each story. You’re really getting a whole lesson in one book. I love how the author/ creator of these series broke up each set. That is something I did not have with the Bob books. In set one you have all the short vowel sounds. So you have a book to follow up each lesson. I highly recommend this series of readers! It’s such a wonderful upgrade to any classroom, homeschool or family library!

Great decodables
The media could not be loaded. Used this to jumpstart my kiddo into reading. I am a kindergarten teacher and was looking something that would align with what we use in the classroom. He is not quite five and these were an amazing fit for him. Some decodable readers don’t make sense for young children. The choice of words, the structure of the simple story, and the focus on short vowels was perfect! I actually went to the website to find more. To my delight I found that the customer service was even better!

Great readers
I love how each book focuses on one short vowel sound throughout the book. There’s also a few blends and diagraphs that can be discussed with your child. I love them! I am going to use them with my youngest in a few years.
