Good company, decent product
The first spear I got broke after the first use but after contacting dr fish they got back right away and sent a replacement. It seems to be better but I’m yet to use it. Great customer service is hard to beat so I would recommend.

Most fun toy EVER!!!!
I bought the spare gun for 70 bucks. Took it spearfishing. Most fun you could possibly have for 70 bucks. Took it out. Easy to use. After about 10 minutes my kids wanted to use it. Should’ve bought one for each kid. Quality was good.

Cheaply made
I bought it (August 26th) for a trip in October. The first time I used it the sling part of the spear broke. I had to rig it together to just try it. Because it was past 30 days - no returns. I would not buy this product again.

Quality
At first, this pole seemed like a solid lightweight option with a decent tip, but when I took it to the water for the first time, the threaded end snapped in one spot. I think it happened because the pole is pretty thin. When I was pulling the rubber, the pole bent a lot, so I feel like the manufacturer needs to beef up the thickness and the threaded connection. I’ve been using a Hawaiian pole speargun with a trigger and one band for about three years without any problems, and I got this new one just in case something happened to the Hawaiian. For now, I’m sticking with my trusty old pole.

A Good Spear For Snorkeling
The sport of spearfishing is becoming more popular and word of it is spreading inland to folks like me who spend most of their time nowhere near the coast. If you’re curious about it- this is a very decent and affordable way to gain entry to a unique albeit old means of fishing in clear waters. I took my set on a vacation where I was able to do some snorkeling . It took me a while to get the hang of it but once I felt comfortable I was able to take some spiny lobster and crabs. I didn’t get the hang of spearing fish with this as they were too quick for me. That being said- I’m admittedly a novice but even so I was able to figure this rig out with a little practice. It’s a strong and sturdy spear that breaks down small enough to fit in a carry-on bag or backpack . The points are sharp and durable. The elastic band is comfortable and certainly gives the spear a mightily speedy strike. Take special notice to properly keep the threads on each piece free of sand and debris. Of course, be sure to check with local fishing regulations as not all persons in all places are permitted to fish in this way. I enjoyed my time with it and I find it to be a fun way to put some tasty morsels on the dinner table. The quality of this spear is good-enough for a beginner like me but I’d bet on this standing up to a lot of the competition in this market. Be careful with it and have yourself some fun!
