More than a laugh a minute – one every 10 seconds!
With a Foreword by Giles Brandreth extolling the virtues of this book, I spent many entertaining minutes reading these 300 original one-liners.I can do no better than to quote one or two of my favourites and invite you to buy a copy of this book – may be as a late Christmas/early New Year present for someone you love, or even yourself! You will not be disappointed!“A politician’s thick skin is mostly scar tissue.”“Prostitutes are paid to go public with their private parts.”“Footing the bill is hard when it costs an arm and a leg.”And my favourite, as a reviewer, is“If you can’t tell a book by its cover, sack the designer.”SméagolBreakaway Reviewers received a copy of the book to review

Quite a find!
Here is a remarkable book that you can enjoy every day. It is certainly quite a find. Robert Eddison's great skill is in compressing often complicated concepts into amusing and thought-provoking one-liners, that are fully on a par with those of the great aphorists, such as Sophocles and, indeed, Oscar Wilde himself.Three examples – "Ask for trouble, and your request will usually be granted", “Respect can be earned, but never bought," and "The best way to do it can often be not to" (which may well be the perfect answer for Brexit!).Gwyn Redgers

This is such a fun book.
This is such a fun book...a perfect present for fans of Oscar Wilde and anyone with a passion for witty humour and the craziness of the English language. I've bought one for me to dip in and out of to keep in my lounge, and another, to give as a gift!

Words are us
Everybody has said it!!!. It's fun, delightful, enchanting, amusing, a frolic through our amazing ability to manipulate words to promote ideas. It's stimulating, inspirational, with that human touch of melodrama, human interest and observation of our human condition. Roll on the sequels.

I really enjoyed the mix of light and serious aphorisms throughout the book. It is amazing to think that they are all original and written by just one person. The book also is beautifully presented and it is a pleasure to own.
