I use these on the sea chests, toy boxes & hope chests. The ones built with domed tops are quite heavy tops. These struts are the only way to insure easy lift and stay open without a prop. It takes a little practice to install.

The 4 Pcs Gas Springs, have been an excellent addition to my RV project. These gas struts provide smooth and reliable lift support for cabinet doors. Worked well to hold up a long cupboard door which opens upward. I needed to add a hinge in the middle of the cupboard to handle the strain.

These are excellent replacements for pistons that have lost their pressure. Make sure that you measure your old ones carefully, as they will only fit a stated length. They do not come with instructions but are not difficult to install except that the clips that hold the pistons to their supports are quite rigid and hard to lift out of the closed position, which you need to do for installation. I was able to coax them down the side of the plastic ends of the pistons with a small screwdriver. If they twist around inside the support, it takes some effort with a needle-nose pliers to get them back to the right place. If they fall off, it is hard to push them one. That’s the downside of having clips that, once installed, provide a strong hold.

Not usable for what intended but worked on other project

Can’t tell you a thing about the product because it has no instructions and is seamingly impossible to install without them. Would not recommend at all. Getting a refund.

We bought these for our kitchen cupboard, as we turned the set cupboard on it's side, to accommodate the small remolding we did. It closes the door softly, no slamming, holds the wood door, so that it closes softly. Used daily, several times daily, is holding up quit well.

says soft close in the title, but is not soft clothes whatsoever when using it for my toy chest lid. it slams down quite abruptly. Product support says to follow instructions and “adjust the knob”, but there is neither any instructions nor any adjustment screws or knobs. otherwise, a it’s fine.
