Magic Trowel
The blade is stiffer than other similar makes. I apply floor and wall coatings and these provide the perfect finish

Wish it was a little more flexible
My husband is a handy man and uses this for for dry wall mud and texture. I personally used this while doing some knock downs on a very textured roof and it did the job great. It has no complaints from me. My husband on the other hand says that it is a wonderful tool to have but, he wishes it was a bit softer to comidate for easier mobility and less creasing in the mud.

Advantageous tool for a novice
Used this to skim coat / smooth a very coarse sand texture out of a bathroom ceiling. Having never done any sort of skim coating, I was looking for any advantage and heard this type of tool could greatly ease the work. This absolutely gave me the advantage. It only took a couple of passes to get the feel of it, and the work went quickly once I did. I spent more time mixing up the joint compound to the right consistency and applying it to the ceiling than I spent smoothing it out with this tool. It was very easy to get things smooth and leave minimal ridges or marks behind. The 18 inch width felt perfect for the size of my project, and I wouldn't have wanted anything narrower. If I had a larger project, I'd maybe even go for a wider model. As mentioned above, I was smoothing out a very coarse sand texture that was applied the last time the ceiling had been painted. That texture did scrape up the rubber edge a small bit on the first coat or two, due to getting the feel of it and applying too much pressure at first. So the rubber edge on mine is not completely smooth anymore, and was leaving very fine lines on the final coat. But any lines that were left behind were very quickly removed by going over with a damp sponge. While I can't speak to how it would hold up to daily use in the hands of someone doing this work for a living, it worked marvelously for me on my single project and I'm keeping it around for future use as well.

Good Tool. Dont forget to practice the technique
Good tool for the value. The real quality of the job is the right technique, right consistency mud and right wall prep. Always get a few different size tools and learn how it feels.
