recently got the WD_BLACK 4TB internal storage for my PlayStation 5, and honestly, I am really impressed with it. At first, I was a little suspicious because a lot of the storage options I saw on the PlayStation app were priced anywhere from hundreds to even thousands of dollars. This one was much more affordable, but the quality has been amazing so far. Installing it into my PS5 was actually very easy. Taking apart the console and putting the internal storage in was much simpler than I expected. The amount of storage it holds is honestly crazy. I currently have 5 different Call of Duty games installed: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty 6, Call of Duty 7, Call of Duty: Vanguard, and Modern Warfare. Anyone who plays COD knows those games take up a huge amount of space. Depending on the title, Call of Duty games can range anywhere from 100GB to over 250GB each because of updates, multiplayer, and extra content. Black Ops Cold War is based around the Cold War era with intense multiplayer, zombies, and campaign missions. Modern Warfare focuses on modern combat and realistic military missions with large online multiplayer modes. Vanguard is set during World War II and follows different soldiers across multiple war fronts. Call of Duty 6 and 7 are classics that many longtime fans still enjoy for their campaigns and multiplayer experiences. I also have GTA V installed, which is an open-world game where you can explore Los Santos, complete missions, and play online with other players. GTA V Online alone can take around 100GB or more. I have Genshin Impact as well, which is a large anime-style open-world adventure game with exploration, combat, and story quests. That game usually takes around 80GB to 100GB depending on updates. I also play 7 Days to Die, which is a zombie survival game where you build, loot, and survive against hordes of zombies. That one is around 15GB to 20GB. Stray is another favorite of mine — it is a story-driven game where you play as a cat trying to make it back to the surface after getting trapped in a world inhabited by robots. Stray is smaller compared to most modern games at around 10GB. On top of that, I have Minecraft installed, which is the classic sandbox building and survival game that most people know and love. Minecraft usually takes around 2GB to 5GB depending on worlds and updates. I also have Skyrim, the massive fantasy RPG where you explore an open world full of dragons, magic, and quests. Skyrim is around 20GB to 30GB depending on mods and editions. Even after all of those games installed, I still have around 3TB left of storage. That honestly shocked me. If this storage device can hold all of these large games and still have room for many more, I definitely think it is worth the money. Affordable, easy to install, and great quality. I would absolutely rate it a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend it to other PS5 players.

Very good M.2 SSD for PS5. Works as expected and plenty of storage to go by. You can Install plenty of games on it. Speed is good, connection is very good. The price is ok could be cheaper. And it fits perfectly. 10/10

Bought to have extra storge on my sons PS5 and the would be easy for him to use without it being external as we have tired that it did not work out well. This was easy to install and use and good quality for not much money.

Like the title implies, now that you found out 25% your PS5 internal storage is eaten up by the OS, you need more room. This has more room, loads more room! It’s branded for the PS5 so no compatibility issues, installs in the time it takes to get the cover off, makes no noise, and is just as fast as being on the HD. So run to the bank, refinance your house and get one of these today! Hurry before it gets even pricier! 9.5/10, -.5 for absurd cost, but would definitely recommend.

The cost is worth it. I like playing games, so the upgrade was needed. Easily able to get placed inside the console. It makes load time faster.

I would like to say I am not a hard spender or a materialistic person and got my first PS5 ( slim model,) last year December. I am also not one to buy expandable storage or external drives unless needed but purchases like these are a no brainer. No matter what you do the storage on the PS5 console whether it is OG PS5 or slim it is not enough you need expandable storage. I been eyeing the 4TB for months on Amazon and missed a sale because I was busy and did not look at my phone!! It was a few weeks ago!! So I finally said what with it and made the plunge and I have to say it was worth it. I got it today in delivered to my house ( Amazon's new system of asking for code is smart but when my driver got toe error came on order page and told me they missed me he sorted it out though. I popped openy slims back panel set it on the floor got my ifixit tools and unscrewed the expansion bay panel and the bolt and put the spacer at the 80 mark. I then took the M.2 NVMe and proceeded to put it in the slot. HERE IS WHERE YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL!!! I see comments saying the drive does not work! You either broke the M.2 drive or the pins of the PS5 M.2 slot!! Look at videos! Even I was making mistakes and putting it on the pin even though I looked at the video before!! There is a space above the pins put it in there until you hear a click do it gently don't force it! If all went well when you close everything it should be fine. After powering on my PS5 Slim it showed that it needed formating. Which is what I did and tested transferring games to it and the speed is as advertised and even on the box if it says 7300 speed remember it says up to that speed your drive is not broken!!! I also recommend people to get IFIXIT toolkit from Amazon's 29.99 one I do not see it on their site. If you do not want the whole kit get the IFIXIT PH #1 here also on Amazon. There should be no reason to strip the screws on both the bay and the m.2. The drive formated well the price was okay! PS5 and this also works on PC the quality of the drive seems good. I might get an external SSD for my PS4 games. This purchase I give 5 stars to!!!

With the size of games today, the storage on the console was not nearly enough. This was easy to install after watching a short "how to" video. It's internal so it doesn't affect the look of the console and the added space allows us to keep many more games at once without deleting and redownloading. I can not tell any difference in the speed or gameplay between this and the internal drive.
