Ticonderoga has been the pencil choice for two generations in this family for its quality. The shorter pencil has no less quality and is perfect for the little hands that will use it beginning their journey in writing. This is recommended for children who struggle with motor skills because it is a smaller pencil and easier to handle and grip because of the shorter length. Very happy with the purchase I will definitely buy again.

Young children learning to write love these pencils. Many choose this shorter, triangular version over the large, spherical "My First Pencil". Get these Ticonderoga brand "My First Pencils", too. I bought more at Wal-mart of their generic brand, I think Pen and Gear, and all the erasers fell off. And those eraser tops don't fit on these thicker, my first pencils. But the ticonderoga are great. Make sure you buy a large pencil sharpener, too. They come sharpened and are high quality, but will not fit in the sharpener for a standard size pencil. Great for helping early writers.

I picked these up for my kids, and they’re honestly a total win. The wider, triangular shape makes them so much easier for little hands to grip compared to a standard skinny pencil. These are THE BEST learning pencils for little hands! I cannot recommend these enough. Both of my sons have developed great pencil control and fine motor skills using these. I recommend them to all homeschooling families with young learners!

These pencils are a great size and weight for your little ones who are learning to write or for your struggling writers. These little pencils are absolutely perfect for little ones who are just starting out with learning to write. Both of my kids ages 3 and 4 are gravitating towards being lefties, which is in my opinion a little more difficult when it comes to teaching them how to write being a righty myself, and I already see improvement in their dexterity in just a few days of using them!
