Q: Is this Medium or Regular grade?

It's a medium grade. A bit softer than the light rosins, and less dusty. It makes the bow glide easily over the strings and enhances a mellow sound without scratchiness. Love it!!

Q: Can this rosin be used on the Viola?

Viola players might say no. As a cellist I'll say yes. Considering the purpose of rosin, I find that it is what I'll call a "mild" affect for pulling a string. I use it on new bows or newly re-haired bows, for which I think it is excellent. As the hair gets older and worn in, I prefer Andrea.
