I've had several of these. This one has a paw that can be disengaged from the bar. This allows for a quicker setting the stretcher up on the wire. When it's hand tight. Kick the paw down. You are ready to stretch using the handle. Nice improvement over other I've owned

This is an awesome fence wire stretcher and wire repair. Great assets on the ranch.

The teeth that grip the wire flatted immediately making the tool useless. Teeth are not hardened steel.

Made a very useful Father's Day gift.

As stated before, the grip quality wasn't shipped with this stretcher. I looked in the box for it twice. The grip head is too soft of metal. Barb wire is not a lot of fun to work with to begin with, and this stretcher only adds to the frustration.

It works pretty good. Heavy metal, works like an old school car jack. Will not close up tight, leaves about 8 - 12 inches open jaw, put then it is just a stretcher. Just have to extend it again, rehook and jack on in some more. Overall works good.

All that is good on it is the springs .the wire just slides right trough. No good.
