Optoma HZ40HDR HD DLP Theatre and Gaming Projector - White

Love this projector use it Dailey and all the time had it for a couple years now best bang for the buck everyone that comes over for movie night says it makes them want one. I project onto a white wall. Image is sharp clean and detailed I use a sound bar and other external speakers: I do wish the sound would connect Bluetooth but even with a adapter it delays sound but I solved with using kind hdmi cables for the price and quality I would give this projector a 10/10

Great protector works great in a dark room,good in a lit room and is ok in a well lit room. Picture quality is top notch is easy to use the sound quality is a little poor but dosent matter if you hook uo a sound bar and sub woofer its great for family movie night low noise all and all good protector for the price

I bought the projector a month and I am very pleased. We use it as our primary TV, mostly to watch movies on a 120" screen. The thing just works. Does it have a fan, yes. Can I hear it over my sound system, no. The Optoma HZ40HDR is substantially brighter than the 3000 lumen projector it's replacing. I could spend 1000s more on deeper blacks or 4K and I would be wasting 1000s of dollars -- the dynamic range looks great and so does the resolution. Use a projector calculator, like the one at Projector Central's website, to make sure that the projected image will fit on your wall or screen. I was relieved to see that the image fit exactly as predicted (calculated). The HDMI-CEC feature allowed me to easily use my Roku remote control to turn on power and control volume on my AV receiver.

Didn't work bad pictures

Beautiful picture, but the fan is overly loud. End up cranking the volume to uncomfortable levels to cover the fan noise.

Excelente Compra. Hay una realidad con los proyectores, si el sol les pega directo o de alguna manera la imagen se va a ver lavada. En mi caso lo compre para una Terraza que tiene techo con vidrio un poco opaco, y le puse una polisombra negra para que no le de directo y ayuda bastante. En la noche es perfecto. Lo conecte con Fire TV a la Barra de Sonido y un Cable Ruipro al Proyector, sonido y video Perfectos.

This review is for the Optoma HZ40HDR. Coming from a 720p projector that was nearly 20years old, the difference is stunning. Light is incredibly bright, to a point it still great to watch during daylight. At 1080p and the viewing distance i have (15-20 feet) is perfect. Image is crisp and colors are fantastic. My goal was to have a more than 60hz gaming monitor for my living room and this one deliver with 120hz refresh rate and a very good response time. There is some little annoyances but not enough to remove a star from this product. But here some little drawback : Loading screen is slow, it the thing i find the most annoying. Especially when you change the resolution and the Hz of the monitor it can take a good 20-30 second to load. (also present in gaming in full screen, if the game is at 60hz and you put it at 120hz, projector will load. Focus adjustment is manual and feel cheap. The rainbow effect is real, as its a DLP projector there is some rainbow effect that can occurs (as mentioned in many professional review on this particular projector its quite noticeable). But I need to address it with some nuance: first not everyone is sensible to it, I notice it mainly with bright white text on dark background and especially if you move your eyes from the center of the screen. This effect is practically none existent while watching a video/movie without text and not at all while gaming. Last but not least, projector controller is very small and feel like cheap led controller but it do the job. But Overall, despite the little quirk, for the price , you wont find better laser projector on the market for now and i enjoy the hell out of it. I got one used-like new from amazon for 400$ cheaper making it a fantastic value. (Will update soon with picture and gaming footage)

Excelente producto, me sorprendio he tenido varios de esta marca incluyendo el uhd38x, Para mi gusto mucho mejor este ,nonse calienta se paga instantáneamente y la calidad de imagen es excelente.

5 star a really nice projector in my backyard 200 inch screen , brightness is full and I have lights working around not full dark also , I highly recommend

En especificaciones, tecnología y precio sin duda es el mejor producto que podrías comprar. El brinco que experimente de mi viejo proyector Optoma HD142X, que me salió buenisimo, a este proyector laser es enorme. Desgraciadamente tuve problemas con él y tuve que solicitar la devolución: Desde la instalación, la lente se notaba floja, supongo que por eso el enfoque nunca tuvo uniformidad en toda la pantalla, una de las esquinas siempre quedaba desenfocada, corregia el enfoque de esa esquina y la opuesta se desenfocaba; se notaban muchos elementos de arcoiris, quizas derivados del mismo problema de la lente. Quizas fue algo fortuito en mi caso. No dudo que sea un gran producto y mi recoemndacion seria que lo compren y lo pruben a fondo. Mi intensión era lograr un cambio de producto, lo cual no se pudo tramitar así. Lo devolví con la intesión de volverlo a comprar, pero entre tanto subio de precio y ya no quise correr riesgos. Creo que en la mayoría de los casos será un producto muy satisfactorio para quien lo compre.

Very luminous, nice contrast, i use this projector on a wall painted white-grayish and the picture is awesome in every way. this is used for movies on a streamer,. no video game. only drawback is the remote control which is super cheap and as big as a credit card... ....hence the 4 star instead of 5.
