I wanted one of the adapters for my Kenwood handheld radio. The electrical connection seems good. It works noticeably better than the cheap connector I had in my parts collection, anyway. I like that this connector has a wide base. This is supposed to provide some strain relief for the radio's SMA connector, but it doesn't screw down quite far enough to touch the radio's housing. So, I slipped a rubber washer (1/4" ID, 1/2" OD, 1/16" thick) over the radio's SMA connector before installing the adapter. That provides a very secure connection that should handle the strain that comes with using RG-8X coax.

I got these specifically to add a BNC connector to my MD-380/UV-380 HT as to not damage the antenna connector when I take the antenna off for transport in my suitcase/overnight bag/glove box, etc. If you swap them on and off and other antennas, these keep you from damaging the SMA connectors. One of the first things I do is install a BNC connector when I get a new HT. I recommend this to anyone. This particular connector does not fit Baofeng DM-1801 or the UV-5R Radios, there are others that do fit those.

It screws and locks in well. I only wished the ports were closer together, this works good though, very well made, very easy to use.

Fits nicely on fully exposed sma, be cautious with sunken in antennas like on uniden barely makes contact.

Adapter is made with good tolerances, fit is excellent, connector is not too tight so I don't expect it to become loose. Cheap connectors will have really tight fit after first usage but will become loose really fast. Materials used seem to be good, not oxidation or flaking. I'm not sure if connectors are coated but there are no scratches after usage. Just in case, I'm not sure if connectors are suitable for permanent outdoors installation since I'm using it indoors.

Needed to convert my TYT UV390 to BNC so I could standardize my antennas. Tighten it down hard and you're good to go! Makes disconnecting cables and antennas super convenient, and now you don't have to worry about whether things are SMA male or female!

These look and work as advertised.

I told my Aunt Mable it was too big for my icom id-52A. I was wrong. It fits perfectly and becomes stronger and harder with a longer antenna. We thank the sweet tiny wee infant baby jesus that we have finally found our nuts.

Not a very good product. Metal is too soft.
