It's big...
Looked more like a fish rank than a in closure when built but it's a good size and well made.I got. My son a. Hamster and un be known to me. They need a big housing. It is expensive but really is worth it.I got the bits to make the hamsters home also on amazon. And now my son has a. Mini world in his bedroom.Sorry for no picture but it's at his mums house in his room and not here to take a picture but can't fault it, yes it's over priced but goes on offer sometimes and when it comes to quality you get what you pay for.

Great cage !
I love this cage so much. I bought it for my gerbils late last year and its lasted me ages. It's practically escape proof, has good ventilation and the holes on either side are helpful for attacking water bottles. It's really good value for money, has enough space for tons of bedding and functions just as intended ! Only problems with this cage is the flap on the front seems to be kind of useless depending on how much bedding used. I've got around 35cm of beddng in it since my gerbils are big burrowers, the acrylic sides kind of seem to flex out with pressure inside, the flap also has gotten gaps around the sides where bedding has pushed against it. It's not that delicate but depending on what you do it can make a lot of noise. It's usually when the lid is closed, or something in the enclosure hits the sides. Other than that its a perfect enclosure for your pets !

Comparison review - 2.0 & 3.0
When bought & for how much?- I bought this (100 x 50 x 52.5cm) Bucatstate 2.0 for £154.99 in April 2025.Background - why this cage?- I have a dwarf hamster- I had bought the 120 x 60 x 62cm Bucatstate 3.0 before this one (for £237.49 in January 2025) & loved every aspect besides assembly > this one seemed easier to assemble (see below) and has the same style, look & access (top & front doors)What did I want from this cage & did it meet those requirements?- I wanted a second, temporary cage for my hamster for when staying with friends/family > it works nicely for this, light enough to lift even once the bedding & accessories are in and can be carried by two people. It's more manoeuvrable than the 120 x 60cm cage, e.g. it can be carried easily up stairs, and easier to fit in a car without disassembling- A cage that meets minimum recommended size for hamster cages in the UK (100 x 50 x 50cm / 40 x 20 x 20 inches) & fits minimum recommended height of bedding (15cm/ 6 inches, compressed to allow burrowing)- Easy to assemble > it only took about 15 minutes to assemble by myself. I only asked for help to slide the front panel in, to save time. You could assemble it on your own. It is not heavy and you do not need to be strong to assemble it- Good access - having both a front opening door and a top opening door make cleaning & rearranging the cage easy. The lid can also be entirely removed during cleaning. I previously had an IKEA Linnmon and this cage is very similar but has the benefit of the front opening door- My hamster is shy & prefers interaction at his own level, i.e. not just from above > the front opening door works nicely for this- You can buy replacement parts (e.g. sides & door latches) for this cage - very reassuring in case of scratches/breakages- You can (theoretically) connect two or more of these cages side by side - nice to know I can expand the size- Aesthetic design - it looks like it does in the listing so fits nicely into a room aesthetic.- Easy to clean - it's wipeable and doesn't seem to react to a 50/50 solution of white vinegar & water (which is frequently recommended for cleaning out hamsters)- You can buy wheels for the feet of the cage - a nice option for easily moving the cage, e.g. to vacuum under it or relocate it within a room- Rectangular cage so does not slope inwards at the base or top like a lot of cages, allowing full use of the floor space & height of the cageAny extra benefits?- Came well-packaged without scuffs or breakages- Came with two spare door clips for the front opening door - reassuring in case any break- Why not 5 stars? Does the 3.0 fix these issues?- The sides of this 2.0 bulge when filled with the recommended minimum amount of bedding (15cm / 6 inches deep) - this is not the case on the 3.0, which has minimal bulging even at 30cm/12 inches of bedding- The cage rattles when the hamster wheel is placed near an edge or on a platform that is near an edge, which is annoying for if you are sleeping in the same room - the rubber seals on the 3.0 stop this (even if they make assembly difficult)- The lid is loud when lifting & closing, which is not a problem for me but could be an issue for noise-sensitive hamsters. (You could just use the front door for access, though) - this is resolved on the 3.0 due to the rubber strips all round the sides & on the top reducing noise- When closed, the front opening door sometimes pops in or out a bit due to the front bulging. Might not suit a hamster that chews a lot at exposed edges - this is not a problem with the 3.0 due to the thicker acrylic & increased number of latches on the front opening door that holds it in place more securely- The base of the cage bulges downwards when filled with bedding & accessories (I have placed the cage on a block of wood the height of the legs so it is supported to fix this) - this is fixed on the 3.0 because Bucatstate has added two metal reinforcement barsBenefits compared to 3.0?- 3.0 took me a few hours & multiple helpers to assemble due to the rubber strips on the sides & lid so wouldn't suit being a temporary cage needing regular assembly/disassembly - this one was quick to assemble- 3.0 assembly would be difficult for people with physical challenges / fatigue - 2.0 assembly was quick and simple- 3.0 is more expensive - this is cheaper in comparison & definitely value for money considering the qualitySummary- Excellent cage, meets minimum size, looks good, not as high-spec as the 3.0 but easier to assemble, good access with front and top doors, well-designed, good quality, easy to cleanDo I prefer 2.0 or 3.0?- For a permanent cage, the extra space and higher spec of the 3.0 makes it my favourite - and the assembly only needs doing once!- For a temporary cage or cheaper option, the 2.0 works nicely- Both are decent cages

So so impressed, best cage I've seen or used
So so impressed with this cage after needing an upgrade for our Syrian hamster. She loves it.Pros:- Looks amazing, modern, clean, simplistic. Large transparent sides make viewing your fluffy friend from every angle easy!- Large size (we got 1m wide one) suitable for Syrian hamster with lots of running space and space to put different accessories and tubes.- Easy to put together, quick too.- Great materials. The sides are plastic which come with plastic covers on them both sides so you peel those off before putting everything together and it looks great. The corners and top are metal, really sturdy and solid. The sides will move a bit if you press on them once put together but that's just the bendiness of the plastic, it still very much stays together and stays put, no way a hamster could escape.- Ventilation is good. The whole top of the cage has ventilation as well as the short-end sides.- Easy to access. The whole top lifts up for easy access and cleaning as well as a large opening on the side which closes securely with turnable lock mechanisms. The top has no lock but it is very heavy and out of reach. The side opening is super useful and large. Nothing worse than those tiny openings on some cages and you have to do some arm gymnastics to get to your fluffy friend!- Arrived quickly. The first package didn't arrive and we got a refund so we ordered it again and it came the next day without issue.- Super customisable. The large size of the cage means you can design it however you like. Also the sides being plastic means you can add deeper layers of bedding for digging.Cons:- Bit expensive. I'm rather happy spending the money now I know how much I'm impressed with the cage. Though if you're on a tight budget it is what I'd consider a luxury priced cage.- The protective stickers that come on each side of the plastic can be a bit tricky to peel off. It's like trying to find the end of a roll of sellotape but harder. We spent a good while trying to get one off in particular! I promise every section has a peel off piece just keep picking at it and you'll get it eventually!- The instructions that come with it are outdated. We were already warned on another person's review about this so were ready for it but for everyone else be warned the instructions mention a few parts like specific screws or instructions steps that aren't needed anymore since I think they've upgraded the cage a little bit since the instructions were written. For example the instructions mentioned putting together the front panel which has the front opening section but that was already put together when it arrived. So if it mentions a few screws or steps that don't make sense, just use common sense and move on! It's easy enough to figure out with the rest of the instructions but it would be good to update the instructions to prevent confusion. The instructions are clearly translated directly from another language so again it's mostly common sense.- Is a little heavy due to the metal and it's large so it can be awkward to move around but if there's two of you it's fine.- I originally wanted a cage with tubes but instead I put tubes inside the cage and make little tube runs for her.- You shouldn't put cages in direct sunlight anyway but I'd just be extra careful with cages like this with less ventilation (though still plenty) than cages with bars on every side top to bottom. We live in an apartment that can get very warm in one room so we'll be moving the cage to cooler rooms when that happens especially now in this cage which in all the plastic could get warm quickly.- You'll need a self standing water bottle but we found one easily enough and put it in the corner and also managed to hang the original bottle on the side on the side ventilation holes. But something to consider!

Dangerous!! Zero Stars!
Absolutely awful design. The hamster can pull its way out of the lettering on the top! Considering this is the recommended golden cage of hamster ownership, I expected better. (Hamster was rehoused safely)
