Handy bit of kit
Needed to replace my exhaust as the baffles had come loose in the back box and were rattling about. Opted to get this cutter to remove the old exhaust. It's a little bit of a faff to get on initially, but once it's on its cuts well. The screw to gently tighten it on the exhaust is very helpful too. Definitely a good tool for the job, would recommend over power tools to avoid damaging something important.

Easy to use
Being my first time cutting an exhaust I was unsure where to begin. I googled some videos and found that the best option was to purchase this exhaust cutter and give it a go. Does exactly as it should. Wrap the chain with the blades around the exhaust and clamp shut the handles. Move cutter back and forth, turning the handle slightly each time so that you can get a deeper cut but without alot of resistance. Gives a lovely finish and I was able to join my new exhaust up no problems. Very pleased with product. Would definitely recommend.

It does the trick but be very aware there is a method to using it.
Once you lock this on the exhaust, make an inital cut where needed and then gradually tighten the pin less than half a turn at a time once the tool starts biting into the metal and begins to spins freely, and continue to strip away at it. You have to be very patient with it. DO NOT overtighten or it will make it very difficult to continue cutting and you will feel very tired and frustrated quite quickly. Also be advised from my experience, once the cut was complete the exhaust didn't just seperate, I had to snap it off from where i had cut into it. Be safe when attempting this and keep your body parts, including your face out of harms way. It missed pretty face by inches before i got it freed. If you have a ramp or hydraulic lift you likely won't have the same problem. I did mine on the floor, laying down on my back using jack stands. You're welcome!

Didn't cut 2mm thick 50mm exhaust pipe.
Fiddly to set up/line up with intended cut mark but OK. Didn't cut into metal pipe but just wandered. Had it set so could turn by hand and made very slight increases to pressure exerted to cut, via screw bolt adjustment. Still didn't cut. Eventually had to clamp pipe down to workbench to see if that worked but still no good. Back to the angle grinder for me.

Didn't manage the job
Bought to cut Suzuki swift OEM exhaust as centre pipe had failed and needed replacing and years earlier I had clamped a failed flange at backbox so was replacing center and felt it would be easier to cut exhaust and remove clamps when off the car. The petrol tank being right above led me to choose this and got it to bite into exhaust easily and let it cut and gradually tightened and continued. 10 minutes later and although it had cut a nice groove it wasn't going further and was unable to move to next chain so gave up and used an oscillating tool with metal cutter and it did the job well. It started well so unsure if it failed due to the size of pipe, ultimately it didn't do the job for me and at 20 odd pounds that's a waste of money for me.

Merci ☺️
