Whatever floats your boat.
I happen to like gadgets, and that's what this is. It's a gadget that allows you to slide up and down you guitar neck and play minor cords, if you tuned it as they recommend. And with a simple bend of the wrist you play a major chord. That's it. Just major and minor chords. No 7th chords, no sus chords, etc.Does it make you play any better? I don't know.It kind of reminds me of the four summers that my dad spent trying to teach my sister how to water ski. First he bought a pair of those real short "junior" skis. My sister couldn't keep those beneath her. She was constantly doing the splits and ending up on the wrong side of the surface. So my dad took some duct tape and strapped the two skis together, about shoulder width apart, took an old ski rope and attached it to the front of the skis so my sister would have something to hold onto. He then attached the ski rope to the front of the skis and basically drug the skis around and hoped that my sister would hang on long enough to get up and out of the water. Well, now my sister could get up and out of the water, but she really had no way to stop her forward progress, relative to the boat. She needed to be able to bring the ski tips together and push the backs of the skis outward, which is little difficult when the skis are taped together. So she would come out of the water and stand up then immediately fall on her face. This was the fourth summer that she got similar results. It must have been aggravating for her. Now, how the hell did we get on the subject of my sister learning to water ski? Oh yeah. Now I remember. So one Saturday we ended up at the lake and somehow the junior ski gadget with the duct tape and handles didn't make the trip. And I had nothing to do with that. My sister decided she would try it with the regular sized "adult" skis. My dad thought that she wouldn't be able to keep them straight because of their bulk. A little bit of throttle and she was up and off to the races, like she'd been doing it all her life. So it ended up that the junior skis were too small for someone of her size and just made it more difficult. So how does this little parable apply to this guitar gadget? If you're having trouble playing the guitar, I wouldn't use this gadget as a shortcut around learning the proper chords and techniques. Sometimes we might feel like we need some kind of crutch to get over the hump when all we need is a little practice and perseverance. Now if you've got the guitar part down, and you just happen to like gadgets, you might enjoy messing around with this. That is if you can figure out how to secure the straps so the won't loosen and slip off your finger.

So excited to be able to play again
This is probably the best seller I've ever purchased from on Amazon. Really cares about her customers and her products. The Rock-iT Barre makes it possible to play again after having to quit years ago because of arthritis. I wasn't sure it would work for me, but it's very adjustable and easy to use. Highly recommend!

Might Work for Others
Nice idea but my left hand too arthritic. Could not press down on frets. Was worth a try though.

Rock-iT Barre has made playing simple, easy, and fun!
I had previously ordered the beginner Rock-it Barre package which came with a black device. It has been great to have and play guitar with - making it so simple and easy to start playing. I wanted to have this extra device around so my husband could also use it while we play together. We are both fairly novice when it comes to guitar playing, but having the Rock-iT Barre has made playing simple, easy, and fun! Of course there is still a learning curve with picking up an instrument, and it does take some practice, but with the help of the Rock-it barre it is not as stressful and overwhelming as it seems. We are excited to start playing together thanks to this invention!

It works
I have not used it that much so far as I play my guitar on my lap. But the product does work as advertised.

It's been nice to have a spare
I ordered this as an extra to keep with my electric guitar. It's been nice to have a spare, though I could use just one for any guitar. I love that I can play guitar with arthritis.
