Diabetic cookbook
My wife loves the book. She reads and it helps her with foods she didn’t even know she could eat. A lot of the recipes look really good. Helps on what to eat and what to stay away from. Was worth getting the book for her.

This is NOT a “Super easy diabetic cookbook” for beginners!!!
Although this book doesn’t tell you, you will need an instant pot for the majority of the recipes. An electric pressure cooker, stove top grill pan, steamer and an air fryer are some of the kitchen appliances you need to make the recipes in this book.Highly disappointing because I would not have purchased this book if I had been aware that specific equipment is needed.I own none of the equipment needed.

Wish I'd known ahead of time
Full disclosure, I am not a cook. I just don't enjoy it. So when I recently got diagnosed with pre-diabetes I was at a loss for what in the heck to eat.So, this cookbook. This is my first negative review and I feel kind of bad, but oh well. First, that 30 day meal plan has got to be a joke. Or maybe I just never considered eating a dinner of nothing but peas.Ultimately, I'm able to get some good recipes/ideas from this cookbook. ***HOWEVER, I wish I'd known ahead of time that at least half of the recipes call for an Instant Pot or an air fryer, since I own neither. Very frustrating!!!***Aesthetically, the cookbook is boring. The font is tiny, recipes are crammed onto the pages, there is no color, and there are no pictures. There are no recommendations for ingredient substitutions or for what you might pair each recipe with. And while most recipes include cooking times, there is also quite a bit of "cook until done." As a non-cook, that could be 2 minutes or 20 minutes as far as I'm concerned. Seriously, I need all the help I can get, give me a best guess!Lastly, I am not a Type 2 diabetic, but I'm not sure many of these recipes would pass muster with a Type 2's diabetes nutritionist. But what do I know?2 stars because I was able to pull a few recipes from this, and the few I've made have been fairly tasty. But would definitely not buy again.
