I like this a lot. I really like being able to see which HDD is in the enclosure - because I have several HDDs. Unfortunately it cannot quite take my WD Black HDD which is a fraction over 10mm thick, so 9.5mm thickness seems to be the limit.Installation is extremely simple and takes less than 15 seconds but it gives no confidence that the case would not spring apart if you dropped it. That would however absorb some of the shock so it is not necessarily a bad thing. In normal use it is quite secure enough.I got transfer speeds of about 60Mbps with an old Toshiba HDD which is perfectly acceptable. Just in case you are unaware, that is not a patch on some SSDs. The fastest I have are M.2/NVMe SSDs which are smaller and lighter too so I wouldn't recommend the 2.5" HDD or SSD format any more. My Sandisk Extreme NVMe portable has a real-world transfer rate from my NVMe 'C' drive of over 900Mbps which is virtually instantaneous for most purposes. They are getting cheaper too, so may be a better option than using an old HDD.

I bought this to house laptop hdd’s, I wanted something that I could see which drive was in the enclosure. The benefit of a screw less case means I can swap drives in and out with ease, a brilliant piece of kit

This did not work at all. I tried multiple drives using multiple PCs and nothing at all.

Works fine but I'm not a fan of the cheap, brittle feeling plastic, compared to alternatives for a similar price.

The idea of using a HDD or SSD and a spare space to store extra photos for instance and be able to just plug into the usb port and hay presto extra storage is great. It means you have access to more storage without having to install straight in a computer... which some people will find that appealing..like me.
